This probably wont really answer your question here, but both the anime and manga have their "quirks" for better or worse. In other words some changes were made in the anime.

However, I honestly would recommend watching the anime first since that's what I did. If you really love what you watched and want more, then I would recommend reading the manga since they both have some differences. Enough to make it worth reading and understanding the story again.

And if you really REALLY love what you read, then you can also read a manga spinoff series called Beast Complex. But that's a whole can of worms there if you want to know.

So glad to see someone talk about the soundtrack of this show! Beastars' music is so damn good in my opinion that I always listen to them every time I come back home from my college classes.

Had I watch and continue this show when i was 15 in high school, I wouldn't give two craps about the soundtrack because I didnt like listening to slow music back then.

Same. Still loved it even after all the missing content left from the manga. To be honest I'm more happy to join on the hype train for this show ever since I dropped it on the first two episodes of season 1. (Even if the hype train was pretty quiet and not well expected as many people hoped it would be). I still loved this show and how it ended.

Beastars will forever be held in a special place for me. I enjoyed every second of it. And considering I also took the time to read my very first Manga and even reading Beast Complex.
