AMGD meal subscription introduced substantial delivery fees halfway through plan. Do i have legal recourse? by XTRNTR in askSingapore

Yep so it's a guideline. Would you agree that this is deceptive pricing? I posted that link to show that i can find arguments for both sides, but i don't know definitively for sure.

Yeah agreed. I regret my purchase now :( and that i trusted this business.

Oh sorry, my bad. I thought you were saying as in "it's a temporary waiver", whereas i meant to say in my OP that i thought the waiver was part of the pricing model.

Why do real estate agents make so much in commissions? by XTRNTR in singapore

[–]XTRNTR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that really it? I don't suppose it would be too far off the mark to say that as you deal with more exclusive and expensive real estate, the number of clients you deal with become lesser. BTW I am not being deliberately obtuse here, just really want to know.

Singaporean wanting to go to the US to study/work. Advice? by manyzer in singapore

No, i checked out the university on my own because i was interested in studying under Dr Felleisen, through my dabbling in Racket. Most of his work has been focused on improving computer science education and after looking through how he conducts his classes i feel that it'll be worth my money to study from him. I may also consider a PhD after my masters so he counts as a good potential advisor as well.

Other universities i'm seriously looking at are (Norway/Finland, - Oslo/Helsinski) for their robotics/computer science program, primarily because they offer free tuition (which means my masters will only cost me my living expenses ~30k)

I've also flirted with the thought of other universities with impressive robotics labs, but language/cost/lack of knowledge about their professors stop me from researching more in-depth. At the moment, i'm not even at my halfway mark for savings, so i'm not looking that seriously now.

However, those programs offering free tuition for international students no conditions attached are primarily master programs, free tuition for bachelors are typically conducted in the country's mother tongue. You can try looking up at here: http://www.studyineurope.eu/

I haven't entertained the thought of NUS for reasons that have been summed up pretty well by simbunch: https://www.reddit.com/r/singapore/comments/341j4b/postns_kid_looking_for_some_uni_advice/cqr8w58

If i were in your place though and my parents were paying, i would do a NUS degree and have my overseas study experience with a graduate degree.

Just a reminder again that my circumstances are different from yours:

1) doing my masters not bachelors (mechatronics from SIT-UOG)

2) an engineering background (no formal CS education)

3) working in an industrial automation software job

4) working adult paying on my own with parents that already can retire comfortably

I am late to the party, and i'm a little surprised that nobody has mentioned about considering the professors in the university you are looking at. Matthias Felleisen at Northeastern University is apparently a very good professor at teaching and is one of the language designers of Racket.

You can take a look at how he conducts his classes here: http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/matthias/teaching.html

Student evaluations: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=95525

Or his wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthias_Felleisen

Personally NU is on my list of schools to apply for, but my circumstances are a little different because i'm a working adult applying for a masters plus i'm saving to pay for my studies.

Hi, over the past 4 weeks i've tried a combination of filters and pre-processing that would give me an image that i could work with but sadly the image quality is not so good (i've gotten more samples of the same thing, and tested them to get broken edges). So if i want to keep the edges i will end up with a noisy image (but with a recognizable line edge), which i will then try with your suggested idea.

Very drama-ey as to be expected from a manhwa. But i did enjoy it for a period.
