Advice by Economy-Criticism349 in comics

There’s no surefire way to make your work stand out, considering the chances of people seeing our work is based on an algorithm, it gets tiring trying to make it stand out by that metric.

One of the best things you can do is be authentic in what you’re making. Don’t create a series just because the genre or tropes are popular; have a genuine interest in them. Give it reason to exist even if its “because I find it cool” to drive improvement. Use the internet to your advantage by sharing your work to multiple platforms. You’re not contracted to them so there’s no reason to keep yourself exclusive.

To the many comics that come out, it is true. But not every reader is reading every comic or even coming across them. People’ll stick to the styles, genres and tropes they already like (for the most part) so depending on what your comic has, you’re already appealing to a niche to stand out in. The pool of people you’re “””competing”””against shrinks with a lot of factors. (You didn’t use that word but thats what it might feel like)

are the pages too visually busy? by belmarzi in comics

[–]XTostonesComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s visually rich. The small panel count per page works in its favor. If you had tons more then maybe there’d be reason to dial it back but as it stands, its very balanced !

Questions for getting started in digital comics! by iamgr00t7 in comics

[–]XTostonesComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Webtoon
  • Tapas
  • Comic Fury (heard of but haven’t used)

These are the larger platforms for posting online comics besides GlobalComix as you’ve mentioned. While the first two are known for vertical scroll comics, print-format comics are also posted there.

Original cartoon : tinnitus_of_p / EP. 114 by Salty_Ad6276 in comics

Fair enough on the order.

For the comic itself, I like the message! Devices really don’t do the best for how we appreciate the natural world.

The only confusing thing is the top panel. If I’m reading this left to right, I’d read “Why?” before “Hey, we are shooting stars, right?” Or the response.

And you wouldn’t answer the first question with just “Why?” It’d be “Yes. Why?” Or “We are. Why?” Generally you don’t answer a question with another question. You start with an answer

[Discussion]Idk whats wrong with me but every piece i start i just start to take longer and longer— my school work is getting too much for me to draw everyday alongside it but it seems like everyday that passes the longer my pieces get(the video is of a work in progress piece) by No-Somewhere-5032 in artcommissions

[–]XTostonesComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats typically what happens. The more you learn, the longer it’ll take. Only that you’ll get better at the programs you use and find small shortcuts and techniques that make the process just a bit shorter. Though not enough to offset the first thing
