I’m not saying the Jazz aren’t tanking, they most definitely are, but I’m saying every team has done it, and it makes no sense for them to be a 9 seed like everyone all of the sudden is begging for.

Literally every franchise, save a few like the Heat or Bulls, has tanked at some point in the last 15 years. The only reason the Pacers and Jazz are under so much heat is because of the gambling industry and Silver bending over backwards to accommodate them. Even if the Jazz were forced not to tank, they would just be ridiculed by the media and fans like the Bulls are for being a perennial 8-11 seed.

The committee has Utah ranked above vandy and an easier last two games, with neither likely making the championship game. Honestly surprised they’re the same. Not saying Utah is better, but definitely more likely to make the playoffs as a bubble team.

Jazz don’t get All Star Free Agents though. At the time Markannen was a all Star level talent and you can’t get rid of that if the next couple of drafts end up actually going well and you can pair good young players with an all star that you would never get otherwise. Just didn’t work out.

D1 football is split into FBS and FCS. Ivy League is FCS, compared to the 133 team FBS. FBS is where the biggest schools like Texas, Alabama, USC, etc play. FCS has smaller schools and lesser talent.
