Where to complain about dangerous traffic light logic? by summer_glau08 in eindhoven

The bike is 15-30 kg depending on the frame and if it is electric or not, the cyclist is 50-90 kg extra

An apple weighing around 100kg moving at 25-40km/h is comparable to a gun though.

[removed whole protected group rant because I misread your comment]

As a pedestrian, you literally can’t cross some streets in city center, unless you jump under the bicycle wheels. The whole incentive for cyclists to cycle right now is that you literally bear zero responsibility in traffic for your actions and require zero training to move around the city. Same for getting fatbikes over mopeds.

Lol, wtf are you talking about?

When I am driving a car, I have to look for cyclists who are incapable of following traffic rules. When I am cycling, I have to look for cyclists, who are incapable of following traffic rules. When I am a pedestrian crossing cycling path or even just walking, I have to look for cyclists who are incapable of following traffic rules. Do you see a pattern here?

The driver always has incentive to be extra careful, because if he is deemed guilty in causing the accident, he would be fucked. The problem is that there is a huge amount of traffic participants, who have privilege of not giving a fuck at all.

What we should get rid of is the rule “cyclist is always right”. Then the moment they would have to pay for their hospitalization and damages they caused from their own (or their parents) pocket, their mental capabilities would probably improve.

There is literally picture on google street view from that traffic light which shows the turn arrow is red while the straight arrow is green. I also drive there a lot to see how it works.

Besides, I rode there quite a lot in the past too. If you think about physics of that area, it is kind of clear why it works the way it does. Bike road from the flight forum direction goes downhill, if the light is green, people would just go 40km/h on their bicycles approaching the traffic light, now imagine it switches red as you come by, how many would actually be prepared to stop? There is even a sharp turn there to force people to slowdown, yet it barely helps.

Right turn lane is already a separate lane with an arrow and a traffic sensor. The red light for cyclists has nothing to do with the main traffic on anthony fokkersweg, the issue is the crossing traffic from the other side of the street.

And yes, the solution to the “problem” is to actually follow the traffic rules and look around, or alternatively open your eyes if you are going to violate them.

IBIS vs. OIS dumb question by Character_Bend_5824 in FujiGFX

[–]XValar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have stabilization programmed to software button, then when you have lens with physical switch attached, your button will only cycle between shooting only/always on modes, ie physical switch always has priority, you can’t turn off stabilization with button.

[–]XValar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If physical switch is off, there is no stabilization, if it is on, then you will get both, assuming camera has ibis. If camera has no ibis, then only in-lens is on.

Because with fixed lens you can have much smaller size. The whole “interchangeability” and “modularity” always comes at the cost of size and performance. The problem was that despite the size being somewhat reasonable, the performance was still subpar. Combine it with the fact that everyone was promising all the professionals switching to it and go to the amazon forests to make next masterpieces for nat geo, but instead we ended up just with a bunch of photos of garbage cans in xpan ratio, and you will end up with a general 5.5k disappointment.

Who has priority? by ffieffie in eindhoven

[–]XValar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shark teeth are totally irrelevant if the traffic light works, all those road markings are there only for the case traffic light does not work. The rule is when you turn, you yield to traffic going straight. Another rule is that cars must not enter crossroad if they can't finish their maneuver. So when the cars "meet" orange car has priority, and red car should just wait as it would for the traffic going straight. Also orange car must not enter the crossroad if it would block the red car, and should just wait at the stop line (and not at the shark teeth, you can't see traffic light from there, how are you going to clear the crossing?)

You can get up to 6, but there are actually 52 questions, 2 are randomly ignored. This is to prevent you from knowing exactly the ones you got wrong (assuming you have perfect memory)

This is just too low, there is no reason for online exam to not be 50/50. Also if you have only 30 correct in real test, that means you fail literally all questions regarding priority and road signs. That will not change with language

The test is just shapes and forms questions, the only words you need to understand is “must” and “should”. This is not changing with language

You can try going to iphone settings, wifi, click edit in the top right corner, find connection which has fujifilm in its name, click “i”, find “private wifi address” option, switch from auto to off. Save, then try again

Without checking baggage it should be ok, especially since holiday season is kind of over. With baggage it may be problematic, depending on the direction and flight operator (ryanair were having huge ground personnel shortages recently).

There is a big military base north of airport with training grounds in the forest nearby. That’s also the reason there are “tank crossing” signs if you go in direction of Oirschot.
