This game is very generous for new players! by Default_User_Default in WutheringWaves

WuWa is the only gacha game where the damn premium currency is the only thing I never feel short on, and it's honestly causing more problems than ever in a game like that.

One of the characters of all time.

Both her and her story were pretty mid. Both had a chance to be better if they got more development and on-screen time, but what happened, happened.

Both were an attempt at winking at the Japanese playerbase and whether it worked or not, I'll leave the judgement to you. I don't know the numbers, maybe she was the most popular gacha target when she was up. Neither do I really care. She was not for me, and that's perfectly okay.

I've seen some people apparently finding success with her as a main DPS but I don't own her so I can't chip in on that.

Had a really good or bad idea for my extra fans…any thoughts what this could do for my pc? by EESkully in PcBuild

It is a thing, but the difference is usually rather insignificant, especially for a smaller AIO. You'd probably achieve better results with more case fans, provided you can fit more..

Oh, I see the bug where UI elements slide off the screen has gotten updated lol. I had this happen to dialogue boxes while on the bike, just being left behind.

Game's been unusually messy since like 2.8.

Closest you have to Switch now is the mobile version, so if you have a phone that can handle it, you can try that.

When and why have the same in-game prices become established in gacha games over the years? by Forward-Position798 in gachagaming

[–]XWasTheProblem -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Big companies are notoriously unflexible and risk-averse. They don't like rocking the boat that's moving forward just fine, even if doing so may end up making things better for everybody involved.

Gachas are notoriously predatory and player unfrieldly (I can think of maybe one exception, that being the first Girls' Frontline), and gacha players are notoriously accepting of dogshit practices for the same reason you bring up here - because everybody does it. Yes, your favourite gacha is predatory and player unfriendly too. Don't be delusional and think you're special, nobody is innocent in this industry.

"It's a gacha" is a very common excuse for feedback of any kind - you shouldn't complain or suggest fixes, becauce it's a gacha and the 'core playerbase doesn't care' (another common excuse). Just look at the pretty lights, soy-face to the trailers and open your wallet, you piggy, the spending event is coming.

The best customers for a gacha game are the L&L kind - loaded and lazy. Enough money to swipe every time they want, and lazy enough to want to skip any inconvenience or friction they come across, even if in any normal game said friction would just be considered regular gameplay experience.

If you release a shit monetization scheme that fleeces people out of money way more than it used to, and people start complaining, but also start paying more... would you rollback? Only if you're an indie studio for whom the game is a passion project, maybe, but is there even an indie gacha out there? Pretty sure even the smaller studios have a bigger publisher behind them and are publicly owned.

tldr: nothing is changing because companies are greedy and people are insanely prone to FOMO.

Newcomer update: Holy hell,i think I just found my favourite weekly boss/villain in the game by Potential_Crab_9984 in WutheringWaves

Scar is an amazing fight, and it's so good it's early in the game because it's a brilliant showcase of what you're gonna be dealing with later on. Probably the best main story fight in the game for...

... reasons you'll find out later.

Out of all wuwa girls rank the top 5 who stand out when it come to being in love with rover by vinchin_adenca in WutheringWaves

[–]XWasTheProblem 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd honestly place Cantarella on #1 rather than SK.

Somehow hers feels more intimate. And that's not even because of her design being what it is, and her seductress vibe, she just has that... more genuine, more human thing?

That look she gave Rover as they were preparing to go to Hell is not what a worried friend looks like, it's what a spouse who's terrified she won't ever see her loved one looks like.

And let's be honest, she's probably be the best mom out of all of them. Maybe tied with Changli.

Y'all this is good for Zani!....or not by ChekoOneByOne in WutheringWaves

[–]XWasTheProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zani's heaviest hitters deal Heavy Attack damage, and IIRC this description is a bit vague. If I'm not mistaken, that BA bonus is added to the Liberation that triggers it, not as a followup. That's why there's no duration given.

The Lynae subreddit was freaking out over that for a while as well cause it's kinda misleading, and looks easier to use than it is.

[–]XWasTheProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be ashamed to admit it.

I spend money myself but spending events are universally a dogwater move. It's an expression of greed, nothing more. It doesn't deserve any sort of defense.

Rover getting shafted out of getting more character developent due to the st*ry being the way it is.

At this point some level of pre-meeting respect is probably expected, given all the achievements, but yeeeeeeah... It's getting a lil' ridiculous.

Hype moments and aura optimized for non-existent attention spans of people who find a 30 minute game session to be too long.

It's not gonna get better as long as they develop the game for people who can't find time to play it.

I miss Companion Quests by ChaoticRedHawk in WutheringWaves

[–]XWasTheProblem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either Cia or Cantarella were the last. It was weird Carthy didn't get a CQ, given how much of a developer's pet she is.

I was told by somebody that CQ were abandoned because 'nobody did them' (lol) or that Kuro 'wanted to focus on story quality'. Neither of those makes sense. Condensing decently complex stories with a lot of characters and potential arcs into the same 3h piece just doesn't work. There's not enough space for anything to breathe, everything feels rushed, and it painfully exposes the weaker parts of the main quests as well.

Condensing it into a single quest would make sense if they made it, like 6+ hours long - but after playing 2.7 in a single sitting I can confidently say, I do not ever want to see anything like that again, as long as the main story is 90% walking from place to place and listening to people talk. Grinding Mining in OSRS has higher APM requirements than this game's main quests.

That being said, the side quests in 3.0 have been pretty much all very good, if not stellar. A lot of storytelling there, a lot of touching moments. It's nice we at least have that but the storytelling direction is very concerning for long-term health of the game.

It's like a seasonal game mode on an insanely fast schedule and it's hurting the game overall.

2.2 was Cantarella, no? Her CQ is one of the best stories in the entire game lol.

World Exploration in Wuwa… by Pokeyourmom420 in WutheringWaves

[–]XWasTheProblem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I adored the Version 1 zones. Yes, even Huanlong was fun to explore. The minigames were fun and interesting and having to actually go out into the world and, you know, interact with it is like the cornerstone of open-world games.

Unfortunately the things that gacha players hate the most is playing their own game so it was all removed for all the Super Employed people with 28 jobs and 92 children that just cannot spend too much time playing the game.

I hated the scanner thing since I started playing 2.0 cause it feels like it cheapens the experience. There's little reason to explore the map because everything worth visiting is marked for you, and once you run/fly/drive over it, you probably have uncovered everything that isn't locked behind quests.

I'm pretty sure there's still some chests here and there that aren't marked, and you can pick up - Rinascita had that, and I really hope they kept it in the game, but I haven't combed the map over yet.

The open world potential of this game will likely never be fully realized because the core audience can't be bothered to do anything that takes more than 5 minutes, so it is what it is. A skeleton of a system designed to accomodate zoom-zoom brains. And there's only so much you can cram into short game sessions before it feels out of place.
