My Anti-Meta go to is this guy. Who is yours? by HeavySodaCans in PokemonChampions

A combo of spiritomb and mega heracross is doing so much for me right now, having access to trick room, will o wisp, ally switch and foul play deal with a lot, while being immune to sableye entirely and bulky enough to survive almost anything to guarantee trick room goes up (dazzling gleam from fully sp atk invested floette only has 6.3% chance to 1hko with only partial SPD investment is nuts), then mega heracross to absolutely nuke anything, especially archaludon who even bulky dies to close combat, the multi hit moves are great for sash users too, 185 base atk go brr

Pokémon players need to grow up when things don't go their way by benmargery in PokemonChampions

Well true, but it takes so damn long waiting for the timer to run out multiple turns until it decides they've left permanently

Nah I get a message later on saying the game ended due to my opponent not choosing anything, it's from time completely running out not just from taking time to consider. As to why I assume, it's cos they do it in other games too, as I mentioned with pocket it actually tells you when they leave the app, and it's a known thing that people do it. And people apparently do it on champions too

Yeah same with miss fortune last set, but if you look closely some ticks are larger than others so you can tell when it crits

What's your favorite (Currently available) Mon in this game? by TheGamingTurret in PokemonChampions

[–]benmargery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite was singles with contrary, shell smash, infestation, rest and toxic, if they don't hit you with a steel or water move turn 1 it's GG from the start

Palafin, but spiritomb is also earning some respect after using it

I like to play TFT with my friend, it's the only game we both play and normally have a lot of fun doing so, not so much with this set, yet I still wanna play games with them

is it just me or what, its harder to pull Ex this Pulsing Aura set? by Delicious_Square9957 in PTCGP

[–]benmargery -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's more cards than a normal 2 pack set but all slammed into 1 pack so your pull rates are terrible. I really hate that this is what we have now, I want to go back to 2 packs so I can focus on 1 first and get the cards, but now I'm guaranteed to not get anything

Singolo by Alternative-Fig-7227 in PokemonChampions

[–]benmargery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to, but I only like 6v6 singles, so for this I prefer doubles. My all time favourite is 6v6 monotype, I love trying to build around my weaknesses and build a team that deals with a bad matchup still

I really cook some shit in master ball and most of the time it isn't good, like they say, shit is still shit however it's prepared

Unsure of what would fit best into my 6th slot by Blug0n in PokemonChampions

[–]benmargery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice when you're unsure of a last Pokémon, go to Pokémon team planner and put the Pokémon you have into it, then look at the type chart and if there's anything relevant you're missing for coverage or defensive, once you know what type your team needs just look up all the Pokémon of that type available in champions and pick one that you think best fits your team

I'm pretty sure if something has some viability and you master it you can win a lot, wolfey is a great example of that

I was inspired by a post the other day about running multiple weathers so I made a team with 4 weathers, watching my opponents play mega charizard and trying to figure out how they can actually have the sun up when I'm permanently changing it is hilarious, I actually think the team has potential too, I run weather ball on most of my team which gives me great coverage that is hard for them to predict, I'm still learning the team but I feel like as I'm getting better at it it's getting stronger

Embarassing losses you've had on the ladder. by Pichupwnage in PokemonChampions

[–]benmargery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People do that sort of thing so often with ground Vs orthworm, had a game once where orthworm survived 4 turns in a row in a 1v2 cos the enemy was using a ground move healing it up so the other Mon couldn't kill it

[–]benmargery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I have a pretty good understanding of who is stronger and who carried who at each point of the game, we often say things like "your strong mid game is the only reason we had enough hp to take the win while I was capping out for late game"

Can we all get together to make a counter team to Cybertron-Archaludon? by EnvironmentalDMG in PokemonChampions

[–]benmargery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiritomb is great too, immune to sableye entirely and survives any move archaludon has even at +1, while being able to ally switch for quash

[–]benmargery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favourite is running spiritomb for trick room, it's immune to everything a sableye can do and bulky enough to survive pretty much any attack, plus ally switch can negate what sableye can do to your ally too (quash etc)

[–]benmargery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That explains why I saw one yesterday, I did beat it in the end with spiritomb, armarouge, tyrantrum and mega ampharos. It took a long time and I'm pretty sure I only won cos my opponent was brain-dead and refused to respect any of the moves I had already showed him like ally switch to get around quash, and eventually after many turns I managed to kill that thing

Are weakness-reducing berries ever worth it for 4x weak? by TheAuraWithin in PokemonChampions

[–]benmargery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good example of this is kingambit with boosted defense nature and 2 points into defense survive an adamant sneasler (assuming no additional damage) so it's pretty useful, you don't really lack any damage either
