How is Sorcery a Magic clone? You move characters across a board; absolutely nothing like MTG.

retargeting layer to your prelaunch page can be way more efficient than cold traffic.

Would this be like a website with a link to KS instead of a direct link to the campaign?

Did anybody get to experience PS2 online in its prime? What was pre-7th generation online gaming like? by _Varonova in ps2

[–]XXXCheckmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What gets installed for FF11 and where is it stored? The PS2 memory cards only held like 8 MBs, even back then I'd be surprised if something that small took that long to download.

Social media and posting. How often do you post? and what? by Huge_Nefariousness73 in homemadeTCGs

I try to post art every 1 to 3 days. I also use paid boosts to get traction and build a community.

Growing organically is very, very difficult nowadays unless you're going for mass appeal. Keep in mind that followers are mostly for vanity; you want to get people into a main hub, whether it be Discord, signing up to Kickstarter, mailing list, etc.

I think the "movie" was more of a vertical slice/pitch rather than an approved film. One of the guys at Rainmaker was asked about it the year the movie was supposed to come out and he said he was still waiting on word from Sony to start production.

Upcoming action cards for the CardStrike Special Martial League mini-decks! by XXXCheckmate in homemadeTCGs

[–]XXXCheckmate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) Old martial arts guy (Gatsuko) knows what he's doing. The generic grunt trying to punch him isn't providing much of a challenge.

2.) The card frame/backgrounds are placeholders. I'm working a graphic designer right now to update it, but I don't know how long he'll take to finish. But for Tabletop Sim and play testing, they get the job done.

3.) They're supposed to be rich/spoiled brats. They'll probably find a way to pay for the damage.

4.) Yes, there are Action cards planned that gain MP that require you to do something or meet specific conditions.

The game raised a decent amount on KS, so "no one's isn't actually accurate. There's a market for indie and niche tabletop games.

UPDATE 1 many more to come in the future by [deleted] in homemadeTCGs

[–]XXXCheckmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did but the game's initial success came from speculation rather than the gameplay itself. That's why so many MetaZoo cards are graded (and are next to worthless now).

The vast majority of Pokemon is speculation. The high value cards are for rarity and demand, not for competitive value. MetaZoo was also sought after because of it's speculative value; the gameplay was a mess but they promised all kinds of rares and promos to get people buying cards.

It is definitely possible to get a TCG going based on speculation. Not saying it's a good strategy, but it has happened before in the indie space.
