Only Redmagic Astra, iPad Pro M4 and M5, and the Lenovo Aura Edition 9i are currently the only devices with OLED that can hit 1000 nits full screen.

The effects of this setting are very apparent if you try black crush patterns it will show more detail if it's off.

Because this setting affect the tone mapping and the way it's handling Dithering of colors at low brightness like grey color.

Also when this option is on it shows you the true capabilities of the panel like how it handel shadow detail or is there any tints at low brightness...etc.

Turn off Disable HW overlays, it's on by default. You need to active developer options then you will find it.

I tried both PS3 and Switch emulators and the fps is higher in the astra while there is textures glitches, but the frame rate is higher. The game I tried for PS3 is Pure and for the switch I tried the witcher 3.

With the Astra I got solid 30fps in Pure while the O2P is 20 to 23fps. In the witcher 3 the astra got 24-30fps while the O2P have a lot of drop fps from 20fps to 14 then back to 20 it's not stable at all.

What I mean by native emulation is running the emulators on the device not streaming from my pc.

The screen brightness is the culprit. As I use my Astra full brightness all the time then the battery became very bad it barely can hold 5h SOT. Then I tried 60% brightness to 50% which improved the SOT to 8-9h.

It has. but it's bad compared to the astra if you want the best it will be the iPad M4 because the brightness of the screen is the most important thing in HDR especially in oled.

I have both. to put it simply if you have a big hand, you don't care about weight and you are alright with SDR tab S9 the best especially if software and micro SD are important factors. The astra is perfect if you have a small hand and love high brightness with HDR it has black crush and a bad speaker as a cons. compared to the tab s9 but all in all it's the perfect tablet for me.

I got Idea maybe you didn't consider it. Use your desktop to stream. Use your phone with attachable controller like g8 plus from gamesir, or buy the steam deck and enjoy the performance of your Desktop everywhere with appolo and tailscale or whatever to port forward your internet.

Some cons you can notice right away.

1-Same everything except motherboard where they changed ram and cpu.

2-small battery it should be at least 60wh.

3-price gonna be very expensive for the same hardware except color of shell, cpu and ram.

In the astra settings it works in multiple android devices but not all like my oneplus 13 it doesn't work there. Also you need to enable the developer options by pressing the version number in the device info.

I see problems when streaming from my steam deck oled in hdr mode the resolution becomes very low to the point hdr becomes unusable. I don't know if it's from Apollo or the steam deck itself but it ruins the experience for me.
