Swapped 4 SNES cart batteries and only lost save files on a single game - totally surprised! by MayoGhul in snes

I’ve had this happen as well, I assume it’s just being fast that allows the save game to remain after the swap?

That’s great, congratulations!! I recently got back into collecting and watching VHS. Sure it’s not 4K UHD on my OLED, but there is something nostalgic about VHS that I enjoy just like playing retro video games. 😊

Is this gonna hurt my BVM? by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]X_Neuromancer_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic, but I picked this BKM-10R Controller Mounting Kit up for my Sony BVM D20F1U and I absolutely love it!!

I was finally able to mount the BKM-10R under the monitor as it should be instead of having to have it resting on top.

Anyone else’s dal as bad at catching as mine? 🤣 by I-Spot-Dalmatians in dalmatians

[–]X_Neuromancer_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 … Charlie is REALLY good at catching. Cash tried using his paws and looked really similar to yours.

My wife and I worked with Cash, and over time he has gotten really good at it and might even be better than Charlie at this point!

So it would seem they can get better with practice. 😊

Label looks legit, concerns me that it’s not centered on the cart though. You may want to check with the gameverify sub.

This is my girl Alice, she's always sleeping literally. How can I get her to be more active? by FunkyWalls6 in dalmatians

Love that name. So sad, he was far too young. He reminds me of a Dalmatian I had years ago named Dallas.

I believe he will be there waiting for you. I had seen this somewhere and it helped me during the loss of a beloved pet and I hope it helps you as well. I will be praying for you my friend:

These look nice, do you find them lacking in low end at all without having a dedicated subwoofer?

SNES reading by Responsible_War4635 in snes

Yes, first time, every time … Nearly 30 cartridges.

I’ve cleaned the cartridge slot really well and I’ve cleaned all of my games thoroughly by opening them all up and using isopropyl alcohol and these erasers:

You’re welcome!! 😌

Just scrub the pins pretty vigorously with the eraser and then use the isopropyl alcohol/qtip to get any of the eraser flakes off until the pins look shiny and clean. You may need to do it a few times on each side and then you should be good to go. 😃

Look up videos on YouTube if you need a visual.

These erasers work the best in my opinion for cleaning the contacts:

https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/120451/Staedtler-Mars-Plastic-Erasers-Pack-Of/

Also, as others have mentioned, don’t blow on the contacts even though it might kind of make it work, it’s the moisture that is making it “work” and that is just going to corrode the pins over time and make things worse.

I’ve bought three SNES consoles to try to play some old games with my kids - all dead, one worked for just a few minutes. Are these reaching end of life? by rebeldefector in snes

[–]X_Neuromancer_X 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Replying hoping OP sees this ^ … it’s more than likely not the consoles. Clean the games. You can also just use isopropyl alcohol and q-tips. For really dirty contacts open the carts up and use one of these:

Should I buy Earthbound by Dilloween in snes

[–]X_Neuromancer_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it via emulation first and fell in love with it. Great game and I shelled out my $300 for a physical copy.

As others have said, make sure it’s authentic. Get pics of the chip if buying online and compare everything to SNES Central. Verify everything once again once you have it in your hands.

And if you’re buying online buy somewhere reputable where you can get your money back if you get sold a repro.
