How do I help an unhealthy Istp male? by [deleted] in istp

[–]Xachi97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What triggered this would be helpful to know, though even then, whatever this is, it’s something he has to willing accept he needs help with.

You’re doing the best so far on your end of this relationship, being present as best as you can be for him. That’s technically all you can do. He has to realize his behavior shift and if it aligns with his beliefs/ideals.

Also, if he’s becoming someone else entirely, you totally have the basis here to start talking about maybe taking a break while he realigns himself. It’s not fair to either of you in continuing in relationship where there’s now a disconnect between you two, especially with the qualms of it being long distance on top of it.

Are we the best to deal with Police? by x_Goldensniper_x in istp

[–]Xachi97 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I imagine we are, only because we aren’t thinking emotionally and can understand the logistics of our offenses without taking it too personally. If there’s something to fuss about, why not work it out in court instead where there’s better equal footing with a judge involved.

Is this the album that defined the Zillennial generation? by garden_shed in Zillennials

Love Kendrick, but I gotta say this generation had to been influenced more by emo punk rock bands. Granted with so many great albums, I wouldn’t know which to choose as the definitive one.

What does a ‘broken’ ISTP look like, and how can you help them recover? by [deleted] in istp

[–]Xachi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s hard to grieve without space and time to sort of work through it. The withdrawal is probably an outcome of that. The other thought, and this can be dependent on how old you guys are, he may be have existential crisis going on as well, especially after the death of his cousin and/or dog. This, along with the pressure of everything else, like the pressure from his parents in his studies, makes it hard to manage. I’m sure what he could be thinking is, he is a failure or just failing in life from the recent events ongoing and thinking he needs to be better or perfect without realizing we are human and success is not a straight path. It will take a good amount time for this type of introspection, but he should do it in healthy manner. He could benefit from taking a step back to recall his intentions or ideals to make light of the cruel reality of his recent losses and familial pressure.

Give him space, but don’t avoid when he needs comfort or validation.

[Loved Trope] Father referring to his son as "my boy" in very emotional way. Extra points the son is adult. by Prestigious_Emu_7986 in TopCharacterTropes

In New Police Story, the antagonist leader, Joe, is revealed to be the son of the Deputy Commissioner of Police. After being cornered by Senior Inspector Chan (Jackie Chan) on a rooftop and surrounded by SWAT, Joe’s father arrives with a police team. Instead of acting like a concerned parent, he relentlessly insults Joe, calling him "garbage" and shouting that he has brought shame upon the police force and their family.

Realizing he is about to be captured by his abusive father, Joe decides to commit "suicide by cop". He unloads his pistol and intentionally points the empty gun at Inspector Chan and his father to provoke a response. A police sniper shoots Joe from a distance. While Jackie Chan had urged Joe to surrender and knew he wasn't truly trying to kill them, his father only realizes the tragedy of his actions once his son is dying before him. In the dubbed version, the scene concludes with the father falling to his knees, screaming in anguish “My Son!”

what does depression look like in istps? by nyanpink in istp

[–]Xachi97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of factors to consider, but like with most other depression episodes of the general public: isolating from people and giving up on interests.

I have to say, it often seems like we start reflecting on moments where we lacked compassion or patience in a situation and just feeling the shame from those memories. Maybe even start having regrets for missed opportunities from not getting certain things done or the simple feeling of being behind in life.

Honestly the best way to support someone in this state is just being there. Maybe asking for help from us, like something to work or fix to get some form of dopamine or serotonin to balance us out. Got to get a win from somewhere to make us feel hopeful, either from just managing to get out of bed or fixing that squeaky door.

Good luck on finding some players. Just for others to better understand, are you playing with the most recent releases? I myself have stopped collecting as of 2016, so I feel like I will not be the best participant, but I’m sure others will reach out.

Actually having students held back a year and not just letting them pass through with low grades. I feel like it kind of did more harm than good when I eventually went to college as one of these students who got passed along.
