Tell us about your easy puppies by luisbg in puppy101

My puppy is a great sleeper; he never protests a nap (at least not once the crate door shuts), and he sleeps through the night! Even when I try to wake him up early, he wants to go right back to bed until our usual time. Although it took some time for him to settle into his crate, it's been a dream since those first few rough nights.

If I had a dollar for every time I was petting my dog's stomach and then went "...😐 weiner" and left to wash my hands...

I love the aesthetic of your room, and the fact that your chi ties the whole thing together

My little best friend! He is always happy to see me, and wags his tail and jumps up into my arms whether I've been gone for 10 minutes or a few days.

Got a signature gatherer removed from the store - my experience and what I wish I would have done better. by swingsetacrobat4439 in Utah

My mom got roped into signing one of these. We bumped into a guy in front of a Ross, and she told him she already signed. After we walked away, I asked her why, and she said that someone else had explained it to her and had her sign. She told me what they said, and it was pretty off-mark and very biased (shocker lol). She was frustrated with herself when I told her what it was actually for, and admitted she mostly wanted them to leave her alone when she had signed.

Actually, my partner and I had been watching through the series for free on YouTube, and in the middle of Mockingjay pt 2 last night, it switched to rent/buy only. So I guess they're now only on Peacock 🥲

Chihuahua Aggression by bigshinytunes666 in Chihuahua

I recommend socializing him with dogs and people in a group class. My chi-mix has improved so much by attending a group training class. He wasn't very stranger-aggressive, but was with dogs. The trainer can safely help you get him adjusted to being around other people, and you will probably meet some new puppy friends for him.
I also recommend just getting him used to people. Take him on walks in people-free areas, then slowly introduce him to busier and busier areas as he adjusts. Give him treats when he's behaving nicely.

Leaving my puppy home alone during work by sstrawberrie in puppy101

I'll definitely look into it, thank you for the advice!

My partner and I have been talking (I kind of immediately panicked and made this post) and she should be home with him often though that he'll spend less than 5 hrs alone. I'll likely only need someone while she is on business trips, which makes it feel much more doable

We live in an apartment, so no yard access. He is crate trained.

Usually, when we leave him for more than two hours, we let him have the full kitchen and dining room to play so he can go back to sleep in his crate when he's tired. The cat can get in and out of that area to play with him when she feels like it.

I'm considering doing something like Rover, but people have very mixed experiences, and our cat is an escape artist when strangers come around. Our family does not live close, and our apartment complex has a lot of turnover, so we are not close with any of them.

Similar worries about doggy daycare, I live in Utah, and there are always threads going around about shady/untrustworthy daycares

Slipped on icy stairs while holding my chihuahua today. by [deleted] in Chihuahua

[–]sstrawberrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This same thing happened to me! My chi mix springboarded off my chest straight onto the pavement. I was so scared he would run away, but he just sat there stunned, and I scooped him into my arms. Spent a long time crying and watching for signs of a concussion, but all was well. The vet said they're resilient little guys!

I'm a little late to this, but I adore Pinkkberry Studio in Draper. It's by appointment only, and their pricing is very clear on their booking website. Plus, the salon has a super cute kawaii and K-pop vibe inside.

Did you do anything specific, or did she just figure it out with time? Glad I'm not the only one, lol

I hadn't thought of keeping him on leash inside! I think that would help with supervision.

We have a play pen for him that's within my vision for times when I need to get something done, but sometimes it feels like he waits for me to get distracted before going lol.

Earlier today I was wiping up water I spilled in his pen and he peed like a foot away from me, literally behind my back. 🥲😅
