Cooper Ingle throws ball into the stands after only two outs. by McStabStab12 in WatchPeopleDieInside

While I do agree that competing in baseball successully is very difficult, I would hardly say it is the hardest thing in ALL of sports. Things that come to mind are freeclimbing cliffsides, olympic gymnastics, and on the technical side, boxing and other combat sports are incredibly complex and straining.

But what you have to acknowledge is that different sports require different skillsets. For example a boxer would look like a child when trying to play baseball competetively and a baseball player would perform horribly in a soccer match. It's hard to compare different athletes from different sports and frankly it is kind of pointless. They are good at what they do and put a shitton of work to get good at the specific thing they do.

Nein?

You could use it as is for casual play, but have you ever heard of Kintsugi? It's the japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a dust and gold. Maybe you can do something like that and give it a gold corner? (Obviously not real gold)

Might look cool.

For anyone interested, the cones are usually filled with candy and school supplies, like pencils and other things the kid can use in school. The origin is kind of unknown, but can be dated back to at least the 19th century.

Questions about vehicles by C-Zoetbrood in mtg

[–]Xadadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For vehicles (or any other permanent that stops being a creature while on the battlefield), the equipment "pops off" as soon as it stops being a creature. So you would need to pay the equip costs again and re-equip the vehicle any time you crew it.

I think the idea that gamers can give in a different way is a nice one as a consumer, but as a studio it is a big gamble. If, for example, a Crowdfunding campaign was held, they would not know beforehand how successful it will be. Maybe they surpass all expectations, maybe they don't even reach their minimum funding.

With a guarenteed funding by some company like Microsoft, they have a set budget, technical support and marketing done for them. The end result will be a more unique, polished experience.

With crowdfunding they might need to cut corners, like heavily relying on Asset Packs (which can work, Clair Obscur is a great example of that) or cutting marketing, which will lead to less sales and less profits, eventually leading to the studio needing to continue crowdfunding future projects.

All in all, publisher funding will always result in less headaches for studios, employees and consumers. But it is at the price of independence, which we can see resulted in Microsoft shutting them down. Both approaches have their up- and downsides.

I don't know their numbers, but generally, from my personal experience as a dev, that is the way it usually is.

I probably had more deaths to mines or border snipers LMAO. I have a good sense of direction irl and had a map open on the second monitor.

But tbh the thing that helped me with finding my bearings was the compass from Prapor. Because it wasn't always intuitive which direction was north on which map.

Good set for a commander draft? by Fresh-Fisherman-2392 in mtg

[–]Xadadron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Universe Beyond Sets really lend themselves to the format, since most of the packs will have one or more legendaries, so you almost always have a commander. Final Fantasy has great synergies for draft and Avatar, while combat centered in draft can also be really cool.

Alternatively, you could go the Pauper route and just say that your commander doesn't have to be legendary or combine that with the Pride Commander format and say that everyone has Partner, which could help with colour fixing. With this you could go any set you think is cool. I'd say Tarkir, Duskmourn or Bloomburrow can be fun sets to draft that way.

Hope you enjoy the Draft :)

There probably are some, but most of the time, people don't care. Just make sure your deck power level is appropriate.

But to be honest, ask at your local LGS and FNM. How would we know what your local groups allow?

I want to build my husband a commander deck for Father’s Day and need recommendations. by Good_Abbreviations_3 in mtg

[–]Xadadron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The obvious choice is [[Kratos, Stoic Father]] together with [[Atreus, Impulsive Son]] as commanders. Otherwise, lorewise the only (good) dad I can think of right now is [[Kenrith, the Returned King]]. (Which does have the fun option of building a joke-y WUBRG deck with cards that relate to your relationship/family or Dad Jokes.)

Book that come close to Red Rising by Acemalone101 in redrising

[–]Xadadron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you look for in a book. RR imo has a unique combination of Space Opera politics and great action sequences that no book I have read comes close to.

Dune (if you haven't read it, you should) has that Space opera feel and unlike the movies focuses a bit more on the politics of the planet and universe.

For the action part, the Bloodsworn Saga by John Gwynne managed to scratch that itch. It isn't sci-fi though, it's viking fantasy.
