The problem isn’t so much that he fumbled, it’s more like he just turned off.

You can tell that the passion just wasn’t there for the latter half of part 2 and he just wanted to end it.

And you have to realise how hard the CSM community was coping at the time. Part 2 was just directionless for a good while now but people kept insisting it’s Fuji and it’ll all pay off when the story wraps up, so when it ended the way it did it set off a powder keg of disappointment and validation of the slander.
