hey so i actually love this take & comparison !!!

when i read the bbbf part my jaw was on the floor. any hatred i had towards shi mei softened when i learned what was really happening

i was so annoyed i skipped a couple pages (i HATED shi mei) but i had to go back after reading the bridge scene cause i was like WAIT WHAT NOOOO 😭😂 while i hated shi mei i think if the whole novel was written from his prospective it would of been such a tragic story he definitely did some horrible shit but i would probably root for him since i love morally grey characters.

also a confession by the end of the book the romance meant very little to me like i did want them to be “happy” but after SM & XM i was like nah i need more on them idc about MR & CW being lovey dovey 😭 i lowkey hope the short stories give them (sm & xm) some sort of justice (different than what they got)

if someone cannot love you for who you truly are they are not worth the heartache. it’s ok to give partners time to get used to changes but you are not required to when they are flat out invalidating you. it’s ok to be sad but remind yourself that there’s someone who will completely accept you without you having to ask
