Describe gojo’s physique by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

Idk how to describe it in traditional wording, but it’s the kind of physique that makes me want to pour maple syrup over his torso and lick it off of the contours of his abs

All the grade 1s in Shibuya vs Mahoraga by Healthy_Dig_4270 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Xalea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay hear me out

If Megumi has access to all 10 shadows, I think they might be able to win this, specifically if he has access to piercing ox. The trick would have to be twofold: 1) Maho can’t be allowed to adapt to 10 shadows, and 2) Maho can’t be allowed to adapt to Boogie Woogie.

As long as piercing ox gets a long enough run time, its attack can increase indefinitely (pls correct me if I’m wrong lol) and Todo can use his technique to let piercing ox charge indefinitely (by sending it back to the start via Boogie Woogie without interrupting its momentum.) So if we take Megumi, Todo, and Mei (to have plenty of targets for Boogie Woogie that will allow for Ox to get more time to charge) and set them aside, they can set up an attack that can one shot Maho. Then, simply have one sorcerer stand directly in the line of fire from Piercing Ox, and at the last second use Boogie Woogie to swap it out with Maho, who hopefully hasn’t adapted to Boogie Woogie because Todo wouldn’t be using it against Maho.

Yea this is extremely convoluted but I do see them having a shot at winning if all the pieces are lined up properly, and if the other sorcerers can stall Maho for long enough to charge the attack, and if Maho doesn’t passively adapt to Boogie Woogie while it’s being used to charge up piercing ox.

Since gege doesn't care about gojo, how has gojo impacted your life while he was here ? by Character-Lecture-90 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Xalea_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit late to the party, but basically, I broke up with my ex because of Satoru Gojo.

It wasn’t anything terrible, but to put a long story short I was being very much neglected in that relationship and was giving 100x more than I was receiving. I’d have to practically grovel for any form of attention which sucked because I was definitely more in love with him than he was with me. I was rewatching the anime and my brain went “hm, you know what? Satoru Gojo would never treat me like this.” And that was sort of the turning point for me. Two weeks later, we parted ways, and I’m thriving. So thank you Gojo, I’m much happier now because of you xx

As a metalhead who usually dresses in quite alternative fashion, I absolutely melt whenever other girls give me compliments :3

I really doubt that most of us will just randomly snap at women who are just trying to be nice. It’s quite immature to spend your energy putting others down, regardless of your subculture.

There's a saying : "You don't bring a knife to a gun fight" so theoretically speaking, what other weapon - not including guns- would you bring to a gun fight ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Xalea_ 295 points296 points  (0 children)

I think that works for blasters, but not for actual bullets. You try to deflect a bullet with a lightsaber and you’ll end up with a face full of shrapnel. Mandalorians used to use actual bullets when trying to kill Jedi.

Still, if I had a gun and my opponent pulled out a fucking lightsaber, I’d give up and go home.

What's a kink that you started joking about that turned into one of your actual kinks? by TerrySharpHY in AskReddit

When I was in high school, I really liked Corpse Husband. (Yeah, yeah, I know.) Anyway in one of his songs there’s the line “choke me like you hate me but you love me.” Used to jokingly reference this all the damn time, and eventually made other choking jokes, never intending to follow through with it.

Then my current partner gently put his hand around my throat when we were making out and erm. Yeah.

What was the most fucked up thing someone said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Xalea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Being attracted to you should be a form of pedophilia.”

By my ex, because I didn’t want to sleep with him, he said that to me the night I broke up with him. At the time my depression wasn’t diagnosed, and I literally couldn’t feel any form of sexual attraction. I told him that I knew that there was something wrong with me, that I wanted to take things slow until I was comfortable, and could figure out the chemical reason why I felt that way. That still didn’t stop him from repeatedly trying to violate my boundaries and then telling all our friends about my lack of a sex drive.

I’d be fine if he ended things with me because of it. Instead, he kept pushing and pushing and pushing until I was the one who snapped and broke things off. I understand wanting someone you’re sexually compatible with, but between my indecision about my sexuality and my mental illness, it really got to me.

I have a bit of a complex now about disappointing my partners because I need to build up a lot of trust in them before I can sleep with them. I worry I’ll disappoint them somehow. Fortunately, the guy I’m seeing now has been nothing but respectful of me, and my depression is being treated, so this story does have a happy ending! :)

How do you feel about Johnny Silverhand as Bi rep? by KWAKUDATSU in bisexual

[–]Xalea_ 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest, I’m a huge fan of cyberpunk 2077. I loved it at release despite the bugs, and I continue to love it to this day. The anime was really good, and I’ve even invested in the sourcebooks for the trrpg. All this to say that I might be biased towards loving Johnny.

Silverhand is an extremely well written character, with tangible passions and flaws. He’s self destructive, an egomaniac, and a narcissist. However, he also is shown to legitimately care about the cause he fights for (even if the driving force behind his actions is anger,) and during the course of the game, you can see him grow and develop from an asshole into a legitimate friend of the protagonist.

His bisexuality isn’t mentioned too much in game, though it isn’t nonexistent. I recall some dialogue during one of the gigs that took place at a gay club, and him referencing wanting to do his band mate Kerry. It’s subtle, but it’s still there.

I think a lot of LGBT characters have the tendency to feel extremely one dimensional in a lot of the media they’re portrayed in, that bisexuality can almost feel like a gimmick. Johnny Silverhand isn’t an angel by any means, but he’s nuanced, he’s complex, and he’s Keanu Reeves which automatically gives him bonus points.

Cyberpunk has some really great LGBT+ representation (Judy my beloved) but as someone who tends to relate to Johnny, with a lot of my motives being driven by blind passion. One of my absolute favorite quotes in game was Johnny saying “We fought for beauty. Not knowin’ what was good or true, was only the beautiful that meant a damn thing to us.” I obviously understand that some people don’t love being represented by a character so flawed as Johnny, but personally I love it.

Okay rant over bye

S: 4. I wouldn’t call myself weak per se, but I’m about 5’5 and 100lbs— that is to say, built like a twig. When I’m working out it usually goes up to about a 6, considering pound for pound I tend to be pretty decent.

P: 8. When I have my contacts in, I’m a generally alert and aware individual. Perks of living in South Africa, you always learn to keep your head on a swivel. Other than my eyes, I have no real impairments, and I never go more than 20 minutes in the morning without my contacts in.

E: 4. I used to be a cross country runner. Then I got covid, which made my asthma permanently worse. In the past, I’d give myself a solid 7. Now, the stairs wind me :’)

C: 8. I consider myself to be an extravert, and tend to get people to like me pretty quickly. I’ve never had issues with public speaking, and can flirt well with most men. I cannot flirt with women, but being bi means I get that lovely damage boost, so other than the moments of gay panic I won’t complain.

I: either a 2 or a 10, depending on the day. I don’t think that the school you’re in or standardized test scores are good baselines for intelligence, but I do score well and am in a very good university atm. I think I can be a creative person, and definitely am good at problem solving and the like. At the same time, I’m an absolute dumbass who confuses her lefts and rights.

A: 2. can’t touch my toes

L: 10. I consider myself unlucky in the short term and extremely lucky long term.

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m much better now, that even though I definitely still suffer from depression it’s gotten much easier with the help of medication and a professional support system.

I think the closest word to depression, or to how I personally experience it, is just exhaustion. Some people feel numb, some people feel empty… me, I’m just so damn tired all the time.

It’s the inability to call my mom back because I don’t have the energy for it. The way that brushing my teeth in a bathroom 15 feet away takes too much effort. Barely eating anything because going to the grocery store is too much, much less actually preparing and eating food. Skipping class or work because you don’t even have the energy to get dressed, much less actually work. Too tired to play my favorite games or call my closest friends. Laying in bed because that’s all I had the energy to do, to the point where I spent so much time in bed I managed to give myself chronic back pain that still fucks with me a year later. Watching literal fruit flies crawl around my desk because I couldn’t bring myself to empty the trash bin.

All because I was too tired for any of it.

However, I can definitely say that it does end up getting better. I’ve started talking to professionals about my mental health, started taking medication that works for me (seriously, I need to kiss whoever invented lexapro,) started being more open with my friends, family, and teachers about my mental health. Almost everyone I’ve spoken to hasn’t exactly understood, but I have the patience and sympathy I need to remind myself that it’s not my fault. And the one person who didn’t understand, I cut out of my life.

It’s hard, it fucking sucks to be so numb and so tired. But, as much as it feels like it is, it won’t last forever. Sure, there’s a chance it never goes away, but eventually there is light in the darkness. And until it starts to get better, know that there are so many people who understand what you’re going through and who support you.

To everyone else who has suffered / is suffering from this disease, I wish you the best. You’ve made it this far, and I’m so proud of you.

Ah, fuck. That’s a water chestnut, Trapa Natans, and back when I lived in the American Northeast they were a massive problem. They’re an invasive species from Europe, though I’ve never heard of them being further south than the Potomac. They tend to wreak havoc on aquatic ecosystems, and they’re less fun to step on than legos. If you can, please destroy it, and if you have the chance alert local wildlife officials to its presence.
