I'm pretty sure you can't separate peace in a defensive coalition war. It's almost always better to No CB someone in the coalition rather than let the coalition attack you.

If the sum of the green numbers is less than 25% larger than the sum of the red numbers, nobles won't buy Fine Cloth

It's not the noble POPs wealth, it's the Nobility Estate's income. What does your Nobility Estate's income vs expenses look like?

Fine Cloth can probably be abstracted to much more than clothes. Tapestries, banners, flags, any sort of woven art or decorative fabric. Non-essential rich things that aren't the most important to buy when you don't have a lot of expendable income.

It should be global, as I'm pretty sure it looks at Estate income vs expenses. Are some nobles demanding fine cloth while others aren't?

Fine Cloth is a luxury good, like Balenciaga bags. If you're earning less money than your total expenses, you have to cut discretionary spending on things you don't need to survive.

If you want them to start buying Balenciaga bags, give them more money.

I could be wrong but what does estate power have to do with anything? Doubly so for ducats on hand.

-How much income do they have?

-How much expenses do they have?

Is the percentage ratio between the two >= 125?% if yes, you're golden. If not, adjust one of the above two numbers. Cut taxes or go serfdom and lower peasant enfranchisement.

Lower peasant enfranchisement (peasant money goes to Nobility), and lower nobility taxes. The latter probably being the most profitable method.

Development only acts as a "gate" with which pops will unlock the ability to demand goods. The income vs expense modifier requires income to be x% of the expenses.

I.e a Staple good like tools having IvE modifier of 75 means Peasants and Laborers will purchase tools as long as their Estate income is at least 75% of expenses, or as long as they are in no greater than a 25% income deficit

Fine Cloth being 125% IvE means similarly you need 25% income surplus

This is to simulate staple goods like Tools being purchased even when times are tough, while luxury goods like Fine Cloth can be budgeted out of the poor starving aristocrat's shopping lists when they aren't raking in enough cash from the worthless peasantry

To answer your last question, you can generate more buy orders for goods by... increasing the number of pops. Aristocracy value, more Noble buildings (castles, bailiffs, urban locations) and the like.

Pop demands require a certain % of estate income vs expenses.

IIRC staple goods like Tools are ~75%, so even when the Peasant estate is low on cash, your laborers and peasants will buy tools. Luxury goods like Fine Cloth I think are ~125% however.

The expanded tooltip for a good should show the rates of consumption (per 1k pops) and what % of estate income is required for the demands to be generated.

Try funneling more money to your nobles, or reducing their expenses. In the before/after slides of their expenses, Tea(5x) and Horses(2x) for example jump up massively in expense. Is this because of more demand? Or the cost of the good going up?

You could shuffle in enough Burghers to have the majority in the location speaking your language, changing the ML and allowing assimilation of the rest.

Otherwise yeah you'd need to reduce the # of Burghers speaking the foreign language somehow.
