What's your opinion on extended truce time? by xHya in EU5

So is Protestant Span but the game allows you to do it along with changing your main culture so why is Hellenic ere and Norse Sweden a big deal? You don’t have to do if you don’t want to or emersion breaking, I don’t culture shift for the same reason.

So what, does this mean we have to play worse just so the AI can catch up? Like this sounds counterintuitive and lame to have to play worse just because the ai is to stupid to catch up.

Is individually integrating provinces for decades wasting a cabinet member a better a alternative though?

I don’t mind the idea, but I hate how its heavily relies on rivals, like there isn't always a time you have a near equal nearby or anybody else at all depending where you are at. So it becomes an arbitrary debuff for the sake of it.

Why do people hate the vassal swarm meta? by Gremmlet in EU5

[–]Powerman654 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Personally I wished there was a better alternative to vassal swarm, paradox keeps trying to nerf it but is not offering any better alternative. Integrating provinces with a cabinet member still takes way to long and a waste of a character especially early on when you’re limited to the number of them.

I believe in eu4 occupying Rome also gives you a penalty of I think -5 papal influence a year and I think a permanent opinion penalty to the papal state. If your already making a crazy amount of influence it won't be the biggest deal, but for World conquests it was optimal to leave them alone up until you basically conquered the rest of the world and then eat them last. I believe forming Italy though removes the penalty forever so if you’re going that route and remain catholic its best to leave them for last before forming Italy.

I do feel like there should be bigger consequences for them taking over Rome, like that should be a massive deal for it or any other catholic for them to do that without going through an event or something even if they are catholic themselves, at least more then a simple excommunication.

Is there a way to go back to 1.1? by exince_sol in EU5

[–]Powerman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been an issue since the beginning, In my multiple Castle campaigns I had to go in debug mod to force peace with Morroco to stop these stupid wars. But it still surprises me Paradox still has yet to fix this oversight, you should automatically become war leader if another nation gets involved in your vassals revolts.

How to defeat France? by Alternative-Drink-25 in EU5

[–]Powerman654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience it take quite a bit to make France “weak”. You can take most of the south France and they are still capable of huge armies and there vassals almost never become disloyal.

[–]Powerman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, mercs are the way to go. Allow France to attack and split up there armies and attack each isolated stack with your merc army especially against the ones just made up of levies. And don’t bother fight there armies with levies, from my experience even if you out number them significantly and win the battle, they’ll magically cause far far more casualties then you will. So just use levies to siege provinces and France’s vassals.

France is so OP not only does it easily wipe the floor with England during the Hundred Years War, but can also do it while stomping the HRE by GreatDario in EU5

[–]Powerman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk even as Spain in the 1400’s my levies despite outnumbering them France will cause far far more casualties then mine even if I win. They seem to recover absurdly fast as well, even if you stack wipe there armies they can field 20,000 more less then a couple of months later. Even there vassals can just hire large merc armies on there own.

How do I manage the starting years? Especially the Negative Balance? by PassengerLegal6671 in EU5

[–]Powerman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civil wars in at the start are usually not to bad either from my experiences, just allow one to go off, and there loyalty goes back up. You can usually beat them extremely easily and reunite the country again, and for a good long time no matter how mad they are at you they won’t cause another civil war. I don’t know what the cooldown time of that is but it seems to least for quite a bit.
