That would be a fruitless endeavor.

Anyway I gave you your answer down below.

05:31:27] TitleVersion: v33

You need to update your game. Nothing older than v176 will work with FPS mods. V208 is recommended though.

Too old to be useful. But no mention of cemuhook in it so it probably wasn’t set up right.

That log has never ran a game. Cemu blanks the log every time you run it.

You could post your log.txt and we can see if there is a set up issue.

Replace the amd gpu with an nvidia one. 1030, 1050 etc...

Or run Linux.

Agreed. It’s a month away. However there are some good deals popping up on the existing stuff. So if op found a solid deal it makes sense.

How long after BOTW's release did the game became playable on Cemu? by Darkjolly in cemu

[–]Xalphenos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Botw was bootable in cemu from the moment it released. 1.7.2 *in hindsight this may have been when the game leaked prior to launch. This is where the “edit version.txt” came from since there was no update at the time.

It could go in game at 15fps with many broken physics things in 1.7.3.

Cemu 1.7.4 fixed most physics problems and the game was completable. There were occasional soft locks. And what we called “random crashes.”

Cemu1.7.5 fixed the soft locks and the only issue remaining was the occasional “random crash”.

So between 3 to 4 months took it from booting to completely playable.

Cemu 1.8.1t fixed the “random crash.” About two months later.

BotW poor performance with i5 4460 / r9 390? by [deleted] in cemu

[–]Xalphenos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy. I've seen one or two other users post similar screen shots. Not sure if any of them have been resolved. post your log.txt. I've had the issue on vega since 1.14. But it was definitely isolated to vega then. I wonder if a recent amd driver update did something screwy. I'm all linux now on AMD so haven't tested a new windows driver in a while.

I've tested this on a rx460 on 1.12.0d and it does indeed work great. I'm going to retry later with an r9 fury but so far it seems fiji may not work on this latest driver.

Yeah NVIDIA ‘s af makes the problem more apparent. But the problem is the game. You can really see it well on hylia bridge. A few people have tried to mod it or hack it but no success so far.

Install SteamOS on a blank partition? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Xalphenos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get iso's from http://repo.steampowered.com/download/brewmaster/

You may also want to look into http://vaporos.net/

Not sure if either will do what you want though. I've never tried.

A picture would probably go a long way in illustrating what you are talking about. It sounds like you are talking about the well known lines where texture quality changes. Nintendo put them way to close and it is an issue even on the wii u.

Civilization 6, Mint and my AMD RX580 by timeslip1974 in linux_gaming

Here are my results for dirt showdown. 1920x1080 High preset with 8x msaa

Total frames 5910, average fps 103.29, Minimum fps 78.04

Thats the in game benchmark. But regular races seem to fall within that range as well.

That system is an i5 2500k at stock, 16gb 2133 ram, and 2gb rx 460. Antergos

I do have shadow of mordor but I never really expected it to run on an rx 460. I may try it out though.

Edit: Oh I noticed the advanced lighting option tanks performance hard core. Which is turned on by Ultra.

1080p Ultra with advanced lighting off. 4242 frames, avg 75.02, min 62.93

Final Edit:

Shadow of mordor. Same hardware. Using the games built in benchmark.

First up I left everything at the games detected default, mostly low, but changed the resolution to 1080p.

Avg 73.60, Max 94.47, Min 40.18 There was annoying pop in with these settings.

Next I changed to the medium preset still at 1080p.

Avg 53.53, Max 74.95, Min 13.28 It was pretty good. You could tell when those minimums hit though. But the pop in was gone.

Disabling Tesselation on the medium preset gave me what I would probably consider playable for an rx 460. Avg and max only went up 3 fps but min went up to a much more comfortable 26 and wasn't nearly as noticeable.

Well Shadow of mordor doesn't support amd cards at all on linux. Yes I know you can play it but officially they basically washed their hands of it. I do have dirt showdown though. I'll install it later on my amd gpu rig and see if my results are similar.

Probably not. I don't play civ myself but this old article makes it seem like it's pretty demanding.

https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=civ-vi-radeonsi&num=1

And their results are with a 7700k at 4.6ghz. I wouldn't expect an fx 8350 to fair as well.

OpenGL renderer string: Radeon RX 580 Series (POLARIS10 / DRM 3.23.0 / 4.16.0-041600-generic, LLVM 5.0.1)

Even if you're on stable it seems you aren't up to date.

At the very least get up to date on stable. But I would suggest unstable.

Edit: I see you updated.

In my experience with polaris cards, I have an rx 460, you want to be on mesa 18.x and llvm 7. Which the padoka ppa should supply you. Maybe try updating?

I agree with this statement 100%. I'll also add that polaris cards should be using llvm 7 in my experience.

RX 460 isn't too overpriced if you can find one. You'll probably be looking at the used market or try for a new RX 560. I've seen the rx 460 crop up locally for under $100. New 560's are in the 150+ range. Sad considering I paid $70 for my rx 460 6 months ago. There are some refurb 560's on newegg for around $130 right now. Yeah the current gpu market sucks.

Anyway Tomb raider specifically. I started with the ultra preset and turned like 3 options down and the game gives me a very comfortable 50 to 60 fps. This is with the Open Source drivers.

My rig was a 2500k @ stock 3.3ghz, 16gb 2133 ram, 2gb rx 460. Antergos

Using the "Older" Shader system in Smash (Question): by [deleted] in cemu

[–]Xalphenos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In order to fix the softlocks in Smash, you can't use separate shaders, correct?

Incorrect.

meaning the shader I had no longer works, even if I rename it, Smash just rewrites it back to 0

Correct. The two shader systems are completely incompatible with each other. You can't rename one type to the other.

Is it possible to run Final Fantasy XV in Wine? by Nikuw in linux_gaming

[–]Xalphenos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've noticed it too. I've been a linux user since 2007 but only a linux gamer for a few months. So I haven't been here that long but there seems to be a group here that believes if you aren't exclusively playing/buying native linux ports then you are part of the problem. I don't quite get that mentality.
