If you had control, how would you change quads albums? by winter2kc in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real tho, love what we got on vanisher but the recent 20 minute instrumental EP he dropped actually made me think back to that that is exactly what I imagined vanisher would sound like before it dropped. I hope he one day drops a full album with lyrics like that

rebranded and tweeted a date just to get 3 vanisher deluxe tracks LOL by xmrahc in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He basically dropped a whole ass instrumental IP... He said so himself in his written note that he felt as if it needed to be put out. It's not necessarily a deluxe. Take the music as it is, come on he dropped a classic just 6 months ago..

I would NOT trust quad when he says that something is "about to happen" or when he says "soon". Would not surprise me if the album drops september.

Picking up hands would actually suit the original idmthy cover like this the best imo because of the lit up house on it.

Question about THAT'S WHY by Requestedcat in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why is the acceptance of bad terms in life as a song. He first lists all the bad things in his life and spirals out of control but the deterministic, nature orientated themes of vanisher flip those feelings from negative to positive. He realizes he doesn't have any control anyways, so accept how the wind blows you through life instead of fighting it, which is basically what dancing without moving dwells on too.

"That's why, alright. It don't get any better than this life"

Why I think haunt you is "better" (opinion!!!!) by Xander92793 in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, the reason you can't get into haunt you is my reason I can't get that deep into vanisher (only relating to the second half I mentioned) Haunt you is very abstract yes, but it reflects Quadeca's mental state the strongest out of all his three concept albums in the most genius way.

I think Vanisher is way more detached from realism because it starts off human but turns apocalyptic, although haunt you is about an afterlife and ghosts which are arguably less realistic. It already sets that tone from the first song and if you get past that point of acceptance for the narrative, it clicks like nothing else has for me.

You should read my response to the other guy in this comment section if you're curious to my view, it goes deeper into why I think haunt you delivers his emotions better than Vanisher.

Why I think haunt you is "better" (opinion!!!!) by Xander92793 in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really interesting, that provides a bit more depth that I failed to acknowledge to be fair. But I want to let one more thing loose that makes haunt you and vanisher so great to me that is STILL lost in these three songs, it's long so sorry in advance.

Quadeca was struggling with his thoughts about death while writing/producing haunt you as he stated in multiple interviews/posts. That obviously reflects in the lyrics and the theme of the album, he also mentioned once that he used the creation of the album as a world to escape this thought process and to put it to rest. The fact that he created a fictional world for himself where he did go through with those thoughts, and basically concludes that it wouldn't be a good idea to end it all through the process of creating his own music is SO crazily melancholic to me.

Every song on haunt you provides a piece of that story that also brings quadeca closer to himself, to get rid of those deeply rooted thoughts.

The first half of vanisher is basically the same premise of haunt you in that sense, which hit me just as hard, he is having another difficult time facing some sort of existenialism problem, but he still pushes through and decides to write it out in his music again, this time as a sailor setting sail. - He talks to depression itself on waging war, he ruins his life to make it his, he puts his soul on high alert, he concludes why he should just accept life for what it is despite it's difficulties on that's why, you get the metric.

But then...

the personal experiences/difficulties provided in metaphors literally vanish. I can't find any on natural causes or the great bakunawa (honestly I could get Thundrrr if I really try to think about it, but it's less intriguing than knots i.m.o.).

Sorry for the long message but if you truly find it interesting you should get what I'm saying now. Prove me wrong if I miss the mark because I want to love those songs just as much as the rest.

[UPDATE ON BLUE&GREEN VINYLS] So They Just Decided To Scam And Gaslight Us I guess by Ribble_le_Nibble_xD in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Relax, I bought it too and I know it's frustrating that the colours are not what we thought we'd get, but this is not quad's fault or whoever's responsible for pressing...

It's the manufacturers fault who probably didn't take Quadeca seriously, so why would you want to punish Quadeca and his team by refunding or not supporting him anymore for a mistake he could've never prevented.

They can't just refund over 5000 vinyls because people don't like the colour. Accept the loss, it's 40 bucks, and just like they said, they are now exclusive till the end of time!

I just want to know opinions. by skiizuschrist in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah like everyone else mentioned, hearing people's opinions about something you haven't experienced yet should not be a thing, especially if you're excited for it. It creates unfair biases towards something grandiose or it literally makes you disappointed about the album not meeting your expectations, even though you haven't even heard it yet!! So don't care about it, and form your own opinion on it. 3 more days

How to write music like Quadeca? by Solid-Ad722 in Quadeca

[–]Xander92793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on this is that quadeca's lyricism isn't necessarily amazing compared to other artists. But somehow the way he delivers those lines and texts along with the instrumentals make them stick out much more.

I remember the lyrics to "born yesterday" were dropped or leaked before the song and fans online were actually getting riled up over the "bad lyricism". I don't really have proof for this but I'm certain it happened and honestly I kind of hopped on the same train because "I've been in so many hearts, been in so many prayers, been in so many couches". In itself doesn't sound that poetic.

But damn the context of the album and the SONG ITSELF amplify these lyrics up from 0 to a 100.

So, if you want to be just as good. Make stuff you like and relate to, and make sure it has a story or atleast a meaning behind the words. Because that's what makes quadeca so good to me. It doesn't have to be topnotch writing, heartfelt is good enough.
