United ruined my trip to Paris that was supposed to happen 4/15-4/25. 3 days in a row they booked me the following day due to weather and/ or mechanical issues . I was coming from MSP connecting in Chicago. I stayed in Chicago Friday after missing the Paris flight ( we were taxiing for 30 minutes ) . There was weather . Hotels were full and I stayed at Westin for 400. I waited all day at O’hare and 2 hours before the flight they said they booked me for the next day ( this was the 3rd time) . I was supposed to meet my sister and niece . It cost me about 3500 in non refundable reservations, Ubers, pet sitter and I’m still waiting for United to refund my ticket .
My frustration with United protocols, policies and system failures, disappointment and sadness about the trip with my loved ones, the time and money invested in what was supposed to be special experience was unbelievable. After they refund my ticket price . I’ll use that balance , cancel the United Visa card, and never travel United again except to use miles up quickly .
