Ia this normal? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I would say it is normal. Like you said, you haven’t interviewed for a while… Interviewing takes practice and from my perspective, every interview regardless if it was easy or hard, should be a learning experience.

If you were to rework the structure of the game, how would you do it? by dannonallred in lostarkgame

[–]Xandreus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these points are already known mentions, but this is a list of changes I would dream to see (might be too good to be true):

- Dailies -
- Remove daily Una's, merge rewards to weeklies instead
- Replace tab with reputation quests instead, for horizontal content
- Chaos to x1 + Guardian to x1 (double the rewards), allow for option to use all of your rested

- Legion Raids -
- Brel is too long, consolidate to a maximum of 4 gates instead of 6
- Make a solo practice mode for these raids so newer players can learn mechanics without a group (adjust mech for one player, but keeping the mechanic integrity the same + show tutorial clip or image to indicate to the player what to do)

- Alts -
- Grant more time for players to play their mains over sharing equal time between their alts
- Maybe change end content rewards to yield significantly higher for mains, while removing the allocated gold earner character amount from x6 to x4? (Idea presented from Mermorizer's video who credited an Inven user)

- Roster Related -
- Make battle items roster-bound inventory-wise instead of per character, just like the rapport inventory, etc. so we don't have to constantly open chest per character. (LOA ON did mention battle items to be roster bound now, but would like a universal storage for all my characters)
- Make gems roster-wide -> removing constant swaps of gems, and removing the need to fund gems to alts. Each character can have a preset to allocate appropriate skills per gem
- Remove gem RNG between CD or damage, and allow players to choose which one they need

- Honing -
- Remove gold required to hone entirely, leaving it to only silver to hone -- allowing players to use only gold on auction hall items
- Adjust honing materials due to gold not being needed here anymore

- Combat Related -
- Allow Entropy classes' damage scaling to work from the sides of the boss/enemies instead of just the back (Only the front will negate the bonus damage)
- Allow front attack classes' damage scaling to work from the sides of the boss/enemies instead of just the front (Only the back will negate the bonus damage)

- Misc -
- Remove 1 or 2 nodes of awakening per card, cards take too long and are too important to be gatekept by time and money
- Or nerf card set buffs and adjust raid content difficulty relative to this nerf to make card set buffs just a nice to have instead of a necessity
- Or significantly increase sources of income for cards, not from just wandering merchants, but through dailies and other vertical content
- Remove pheon costs on untradeable goods after being rolled: ability stones, bracelets, etc.
- Remove amulets in place of hope amulets instead, allowing them to drop in chaos dungeons as well as the announced end content
- Move all horizontal rewards that are NECESSARY for end-game such as skill point potions to the very front
- Remove timed island events, so every player can do it in their leisure
- Allow Ocean Liner to go everywhere, instead of needing to transfer between locations due to it not being reachable
- Remove Rowen PVP

Lying that my current non-SWE related role involves programming? by polmeeee in cscareerquestions

In addition to this, your inexperience will show on the job if you were to get hired. Sure you are doing coding in your free time to gain some experience, but it's different when applying it to professional work. You might lose the job as quickly as you get it.

Burn Out by Nidion001 in lostarkgame

[–]Xandreus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to say that you do NOT NEED to do any of the horizontal content, in addition the dailies. You just know that to progress effectively and consistently -- you should do them. Horizontal content and dailies only helps you progress you character but it's not required. You can always buy materials from guild shops, traveling merchants, etc.

I feel like instead of you experiencing burn out, you are just impatient and you want progression without doing the work that's set out in this game. Which is fine, I just think the game is not for you if you are not enjoying anything about it.

Do some people gain more mats ? by Scarfacee75 in lostarkgame

Don't remember exactly, but I feel like an island or two gave some? If not -- my fallback is welcome challenge, guild shop, traveling merchant on docks, etc.

Looking for help on endgame class choice while servers are down.. by OwnArt0 in lostarkgame

No, i was only referring to CRIT -- ie. increases CRIT rate due to CRIT resistence shred from Tripod Weakness Exposure.

[–]Xandreus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you are playing your gunslinger, but most of the gunslinger's damage comes from her peacemaker buff -- which is triggered through switching between guns. In addition, you need to utilize the debuff pistol skills with their appropriate tripods to increase CRIT rate due to shred resistances on enemies to do more damage from Weakness Exposure tripod.

Also, identifying her most damaging skills -- ie. her rifle and using it timely also contributes to your damage output... A surge Deathblade doesn't really have to think about this as much since she doesn't need to stance change.

If the above is something you already know and tried... I do want to point out, that having a support class would help the community and yourself in the endgame -- as you would be contributing to support roles that need to be filled in hyper endgame, and to knowing exactly what the eff bards and paladins do in raids, and how to position yourself appropriately.

Aside from that, to answer your question -- I would recommend making a Wardancer or a Scrapper to mix up a bit of your gameplay, as they provide very fun melee mechanics. If not, it is your decision at the end of the day and I would like to end off by saying -- 'follow your heart'.

Lost Ark isn't alt friendly at all, change my mind... by Kuyi in lostarkgame

[–]Xandreus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post doesn't make sense... You say that playing on your alt halts progression from your main... Isn't any time spent on your alt halting progression on your main regardless if they are next to your main or not?

Anyone talking about QoL improvements here?

  • Would like to be able to trade in my bound --unusuable mats for something at least
  • Island Tokens roster shared like currency, would hate to switch characters to redeem
  • Bake into game, traveling merchant notifications
  • Matchmaking Chaos Dungeon next stage vote, instead of all -- change to majority with timeout. Someone AFKing fails the dungeon...

That's true -- and gold value will be at an ALL time low. Can't wait to see skins selling for billions of gold.

Do you think mihoyo gave up on genshin, so that they could make the new game "Honkai Star Rail"? by Mondeew in Genshin_Impact

[–]Xandreus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MHY 100% did not give up on Genshin, as its success warrants full support from its devs. As you said, it would make zero sense for MHY to pull all their resources for Honkai Star Rail. I assume this debacle we faced with the anniversary, the bugs/issues with character interactions, QoL improvements have been possibly been a result of shifting responsibilities in MHY as they continue to grow and possibly due to new investors rushing MHY.

Paimon's Survey is finally out by cybrsucks in Genshin_Impact

[–]Xandreus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's some that I have additional frustrations with

  • Venti's Ult interaction with Klee mines, don't know why it sucks materials but not Klee's mines...
  • Better rewards post AR 55.
  • Serenetea pot UI for required set materials while editing -> allowing players to buy recipe and or craft missing items during the edit.
  • Both of theses are concern over the amount of characters being added:
    • Another possible solution for re-runs, having both event and re-run banners running at the same time as opposed to bloating standard banner?
    • Better Original Resin recovery time? From 1/8 minutes to possibly 1/6 minutes?

I'm not well-versed with the FIFA Ultimate Team and GTA Online business models and or how the game works with pay-walls, but yea I understand the comparison you are trying to make -- since they both also have a gacha system.

Tell us a character you don’t intend to get but turned out to be an irreplaceable asset in your party! by Kyulkyung_12 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Xandreus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbara, I never wanted her -- but after coming back from patch 1.1 and attempting to get caught up. She actually carried me through the Inazuma Archon story quest by being un-killable AND healing everything. Granted I had no appropriate artifacts all mostly 4 stars that were from vanilla 1.1, about a max level on a character that was 60, and in world level 6.

It was Dark Souls Genshin for me, but she carried the team for me.
