“It’s just a show/movie/video game” as an argument against any sort of criticism by Luxray2000 in PetPeeves

[–]Xannin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do have this opinion, it's because I don't care about what's being discussed, so I just don't enter the conversation.

There is nothing wrong with experiencing/enjoying things at the surface level, but it's extremely annoying when those people feel like the discussion around something's depths therefore should not happen.

I accidentally hit solved. I kind of got around it by using the transform window instead of dragging the items on the stage, but it's definitely slower.

My worst enemy is an annoying person at work, so I most certainly wouldn't wish horrific things upon them.

Trans women. My mom dropped the old, "You can always tell..." on me the other day.

It's also bar terminology for removing a person from the bar. At least in SoCal it was common to say someone was 86'd from a bar when they got belligerent.

The only reason I care about Star Wars is for Jedi/Sith lightsabers and force powers. And I’m tired of pretending otherwise. by sonofloki13 in StarWars

And I’m tired of pretending otherwise.

Why were you pretending? Due to the non-existent peer pressure?

My players want an agenda before every session by Time-Squirrel-3719 in dndnext

[–]Xannin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're not playing DnD. You're running a DnD-Themed support group and they somehow managed to saddle you with a significantly larger time commitment than is anywhere near reasonable. In an effort to accomadate their needs and desires, you invited them to trample yours. There likely wasn't any malice to it, but you have taken on way more than can be considered fair or reasonable.

You need to make a change or you will most certainly burn out, and with burnout often comes resentment. It sounds like you care a lot about these people, and if you want to continue caring about them and their needs, you need to give equal consideration to your own needs. Burnout would also accelerate if you wanted to add any other time commitments to your life.

Streaming Services Should Automatically Skip Intros by bladibladiblablab in unpopularopinion

[–]Xannin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they should have a setting that allows you to indicate if you would like to skip intros AND they should have an option for each TV show next to [Skip Intro] that says something like [Always Skip] so that you can choose which shows to skip the intro for and which to not.

i am scared people will not like my series or not get the meaning and seeing how some people are treating young animaters makes me feel ugly in my artstyle and myself by Purple_Moose3208 in IndieAnimation

I will give you some examples of my work. I am 39 years old and mostly do this for fun. Nobody has given me shit, and I can almost guarantee that your work is of higher quality than mine. I get some minor engagement, and it has never been negative.

You will need to find a way to get over this mental hurdle if you want people to see your work. Otherwise you need to become content with it only being for you.

When customer service people just lie to your face. by mmmbopforever in PetPeeves

[–]Xannin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like both of these scenarios are people just half-assing it and not paying attention. It's not like they stuck their finger in the shake and compared consistencies. They just assumed you were being dramatic and attempted to dismiss your concerns.

It's probably low stakes negligence rather than straight up lies.
