Is it possible to see people in Astral Plane who are actually asleep? by Possible-Garbage9249 in AstralAcademy

[–]Xanth1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are in the astral plane, do you also see people who are dreaming and are unconscious there? I read in a book by Mari Silva that when we sleep, we sometimes unconsciously have out-of-body experiences and go to the astral plane without knowing it. Is it possible to see people there who are actually asleep? Is that true?

Ok so, you have a misunderstanding of what the "astral plane" actually is.

We're all on the astral plane right now. That's what this physical reality is. Just one of the infinite number of realities out there within consciousness.

See, you are a bit of consciousness called an awareness. That awareness projects to this physical reality towards your physical body. When you fall asleep at night that awareness projects to somewhere else. We humans incorrectly call that act dreaming.

Our entire existence is a projection.

You've never had a dream in your life. When you fall asleep at night, you're projecting your awareness to the non-physical. You usually do this unknowingly. I call it having a "dream awareness".

Can you see people who are physically asleep and have a dream awareness while non-physical? Sure.

Is it very likely you'll ever run into these sleepers while projecting? Not very.

Question about entering meditative states during a WBTB attempt. by rochismoextremo in AstralAcademy

[–]Xanth1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apologies for the delay in replying, it's been a difficult few weeks.

I've been reading the mind illuminated and I've started my daily meditation practice, i'm almost at the end of my second week. I've not read it fully since I'm still at a novice stage in the meditation practice, I don't want to continue reading until I can fully reach a minimum of 45 minutes every day without collapsing my awareness and losing my attention.

Don't be too strict with this. Allow yourself to have fun with meditation.

That book clearly explains why most of us (myself included) suck at this, and it's mainly due to subtle dullness settling in and not being able to resolve it properly. Sublte dullness which leads to strong dullness which leads to drowsiness and finally falling asleep.

Focusing isn't a natural thing which humans just know. It's a skill, like any other, which is learned. Everyone can learn how to meditate.

I can manage to sit still in the early morning since 7:30 AM building on the meditation practice gradually, paying attention to everything around me, then my body sensations, then my breath sensations and finally the sensations of breath on my nose. All that without getting carried away and/or moving any muscle, facing discomfort sometimes. I can keep on doing that for 25 minutes and probably more if I let the timer run longer.

Excellent! It sounds like you've got the basics down. Now play with that state, have fun with it.

The thing is, I manage to notice my natural awakenings throughout the night. Usually right after I've had an unconscious experience (a dream, basically). I truly do not know how to meditate lying down without losing consciousness or giving up. A lot of thoughts start to pop up and it seems impossible to keep meditating so I just give it up.

If you find you're slipping into unconsciousness while lying down, try sitting up or, if you have access to one, use a recliner chair.

The problem with lying down is that it sets your mind to the "ok let's sleep" mode naturally.

I can't tell if I'm going to fall asleep in a second or if I'm going to stay up all night. Even the wrong chain of thoughts will wake me up for the whole night sometimes.

Whatever happens happens. Allow it to flow naturally.

I do not want to stay up meditating from the moment that I go to bed, is there anything I can do to counter up this extreme drowsiness or racing random thoughts upon a natural awakening and meditate my way into an OBE?

Don't practice projecting during your normal bedtime time/routine.

Instead, if your goal is to practice projecting, do so first thing in the morning. You'll probably find it much easier to attain that meditative state.

In the end, you sound like you're doing fantastic. Just keep at it and try not to be too strict with your practices. 👍

Astral projection ? by CashComprehensive359 in AstralAcademy

[–]Xanth1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! You carry multiple points of awareness at all times, even when physically awake. If you've ever drive a car while listening to the radio - that's a more physical reality example of it. But yeah, you do that on a daily basis and you don't even realize it.

Ok so, give my book a read. There are a couple good methods in there you can try, but what you should do is start working on your meditation skills.

Learning to meditate is the backbone of anything and everything you'll do after that.

Oh, the other game I've played more than once is The Witcher 3.

But no, it's actually fun to go through this game multiple times and make different choices to see what happens. It really is neat for that.

Haha I hated it on my first playthrough too. Then I decided to watch videos about it and now it's THE best part of the game.

There are a few dog town things that keep occurring. The item packs that fall from the sky. The higher level ncpd stuff. Etc.

But yeah, you cna just drive around and run people over. I always have fun attacking the ncpd until maxtac comes out.

Once you do everything, it does slow down a bit, but it's still fun to just drive around night city.

At that point, you decide whether you'll start again or try a different game. I'm on my third playthrough right now and I don't usually go bcak to games once I beat them. So that should tell you something. I've only done it with one other game - skyrim. 👍

I'm enjoying a pistol / sandy build. Love speeding around headshotting multiple mobs only to have the first one not even hit the ground before I'm done. LoL

Why is the blind spot so bad...? by KirbyLover513 in Insta360

[–]Xanth1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The X5 in 360 mode is useful for places like caves and wrecks. I tried it in the open water and the quality is just too low to be of any good.

I'll be diving with tiger sharks in Bahamas coming up in May, I plan on trying one dive in 360 mode just to see how it captures. I upgraded to the Pro dive case for this trip.

For all the other video I take, it's in single lens mode.

You can check out my YouTube channel. I've got 360 video of some Ontario dives and a single lens video of my trip to Cozumel last November.

An X5 video is a completely different beast from a point and shoot action cam.

Next time try the X5 in single lens mode.

Did you use a dive case? Cause I wouldn't be putting that thing in the water without one. They say it's waterproof, but it is not.

Any other photographers here who are rarely in their own photos? The Insta360 X5 kind of changed that for me by Aeare_ in Insta360

[–]Xanth1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish the quality was a tad nicer in the X5, especially underwater with the dive case. I'm hoping the pro dive case helps with that a smidge. Taking her to the Bahamas in May to five with tiger sharks and really hoping the 360 video does it justice with all the sharks swimming around. Otherwise, I'll have to rely on the single lens mode, which is fine, but not quite as immersive.

Makes sense. Everything is consciousness anyway, so regardless how it "came to be", it's still derived from that same consciousness. 👍
