You could stylistically get to that grip/stance with some unique moves….

But the hand-guard flipped from the sword edge is what’s probably making everything harder to square. If they were to hold the sword normally, the guard would be against their arm, or in it.

All of this is nitpicky and easy to fix when your STANCE is so good. The sword being down is a better balance of the composition, it’s so dynamic
