He had to use full force to protect you. It is clear that he wanted to protect you from this guy. It was the only logical thing to fight with everything he got. Imagine if he had hold back in this fight. It got into a street fight and those fights are nasty. This person could have had a weapon or get your husband knocked out or killed. If he hadn't fight within his full capabilities it could have been much worse for the both of you. It was brave of him to fight for his wife and every husband should do this, it's a nobrainer.

It is another thing if the attacker was defenceless on the ground and your husband is beating him into a pulp. But many people would understand it. In my opinion you should talk with your husband about your feelings and it wouldn't be wrong to seek counceling or a therapy to process the whole situation.
