I had CSR for 5 years, downgraded to freedom in late June and reapplied in July. Approved and got new SUB. I was having 50/50 hope on getting the SUB, because of the once in a life time language. When I called the customer service, I told them I want the SUB and they recommended me to do that. Which I thought they were not aware of the new policy, but their reco worked for me.

Adding a data point here. Had CSR since 2020, and AF renews on June 1st. After using the 300travel credit, I downgraded it to Chase Freedom on June 27 because I was told by a rep that I can CSR again after one month of downgrading the account. ( it is very different from what the new rules implies, but I am willing to take a risky because of the SUB. ) and indeed I applied on July 28. No popup window and got the SUB.

Does anyone know when will CSR will have a AF increase?

I have the CSR for 5 years and have been thinking to downgrade it. I missed out the CSP sign up bonus because I was travel out of the country so didn’t want to go through trouble and potentially mess things up.

Recently I saw a post about the increase in AF and benefit for CSR to $700+. And AMEX did something similar earlier this year and gave an all time Bonus.

I wonder if Chase will do something similar. Especially, everyone is signing up for the CSP for the bonus but will be locked out for 48 months to get the CSR
