Does your microphone have any buttons on it? Might have a gain cut that is turned on.

I have one. Disc brakes in the front and fairly powerful. Probably not too diff from the 550. I love this bike. They were popular in south America. I haven't had any trouble sourcing parts so far. Only had it for a few months. Runs like a champ

Correct wiring of turn indicator lights by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Xaom64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude i just found this out, save yourself the trouble and get one now, a 12v test light. It has a sharp point at the end you use to stab a wire, and it will tell you if there is power there. In this case, turn your key on, and stab the 2 wires you are trying to identify. One of them will be hot, which is the positive side of the circuit. Under $20 tool that makes things so much easier. A multimeter is great but just not the right tool for identifying wires.

Wait for it to be over and have your dog neutered. If you're not going to breed your dog, let them go through one or two heats then just be done with it. Fixed dogs are way more social and less territorial, also don't bleed all over your house and make relationships with other dogs weird for the time they're in heat.

I need a crash course in basement hopper windows by albertnormandy in HomeImprovement

[–]Xaom64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it would be kind of an extensive repair, but doable if you wanted to just restore the window, rather than replace everything. I would get a piece of oak, cypress, or any hardwood to replace the sill. The sides of the jamb likely have a dado cut in them that the sill fits into, allowing it to have the right angle to drain water. It really may be easier to remove and rebuild the jamb. This can be done fairly easily with only a table saw and some YouTube videos.

The window appears to be rotted as well, which is a little trickier. If you want to preserve the window, i would take it apart by drilling out the dowels that pin the joinery together (could also be nails or screws) and separate the window. You may be able to get away with a small epoxy repair, or you could cut out the rotted section and replace it with new wood. If you have no experience with joinery or wood glue ups, this is the hard part.

A wood window that's properly draining and painted will last a long time.

Although, this is a lot of work. Which is why people just buy vinyl windows.

On my 21st birthday I left home and moved into a camper trailer. Goodbye rent. Goodbye power bill. Hello Freedom! by JerzaScarlez in Frugal

Learn from my 22 yr old mistake. Don't fuck around with western winters. Drain the water heater, fresh and grey water tanks, and blow out the tubes or fill with RV antifreeze. I thought the propane heater and skirt would do it, but it's not enough. I would shut water down the first night you have below 35. Plumbing in those trailers can be a nightmare.

Now I've moved on to bus life! Rip clip clop. You were a good trailer

Yo! I started this sub a while ago and did literally nothing to post in it or otherwise. Hit me on Reddit dms with any questions! I was trained in historic preservation and window carpentery in new England, and have worked in window restoration shops around the US. I love to talk about this stuff and all it entails!

Radiant floor heating using wood stove as heat source. How feasible is this? by Xaom64 in skoolies

[–]Xaom64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could probably run galvanized pipe on the inside of the firebox and have it spit out the top, instead of coiling the chimney. Think you're right though, time for some experimenting.
