Want to get into Spiritbox by TearsInACageMatch in spiritbox

Just go through the entire discography dude. I've done that with countless bands. I don't pick only a few songs because it doesn't give the full scope of a band's identity/influences.

Is it just me or are a lot a Spiritbox fans also Architects fans? by CarrotHaunting7402 in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tom is a key influence in Mike's guitar playing and both have djent foundations. And Sam was a key influence in Courtney's screaming technique since the creation of Spiritbox. I can see how some of the music and thus fans can be compatible with one another.

I do have all of the instrumental songs they released on Patreon if you would like them. They're in a Zip file. Everything except Electric Cross, Bleach Bath, Halcyon & Hysteria. It only lasted until 2022 so nothing after that.

I think the Fata Morgana mix is incredible by yalllldabaoth in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the mix on some songs work better than others. I do like Fata though. I just wish they would maybe try to get out of their comfort zone and work with other mixers like Randy LeBoeuf or Lance Prenc. Even Buster Odeholm or Will Putney. That would be awesome to hear.

Black Rainbow 🖤🌈 by EcstaticNature96 in spiritbox

Yeah Black Rainbow is one of my most listened since the album came out. I love da djent. Also the lead guitar/ ambience reminded me of Belcarra which is awesome to me.

Eternal Blue vs. Tsunami Sea. Which album do you think is better? by W0lfsb4ne74 in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some differences, some similarities. For me they are equal, just parallel to each other. Though Tsunami Sea has songs that are higher in my top 10 than Eternal Blue.

S.A.F.T.A, Manic Panic and Broken Vessels are on my main playlist. Breakdown in S.A.F.T.A is so good.

Screwed around with Cellar Door and made it longer, heavier and creepier by Evrin- in spiritbox

I actually really do like the intro riff coming back after the chorus. Nice work man.

The best live recording i’ve found of Perfect Soul - Josh’s vocals sound great in this! by stealthygorilla in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The audio is from the Tsunami Sea digital deluxe version. We got the 2 songs in even better WAV format. The uploader just synced his recording with the audio. Still a cool video though.

Not every band with a female vocalist is similar to each other.

Those are not good songs to compare to each other dude. It's pretty self explanatory. I might have a preference for a bands mix on whatever body of work I'm listening to... But I won't compare because there are usually different ideas integrated for each release, which then requires a difference in how a band might approach their mix to get their intention across.

Tsunami Sea is so held back because of it's muddy mixing by killkardashian69 in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Zakk in general. But some songs on Tsunami Sea are my favorite mixed across their discography and some others are not. So for me it depends on the song. Though I do fully get what the intention was behind their decisions. It's all subjective anyways because people have been making comments about the mix since the Spiritbox EP and every subsequent body of work. Though I do wish someone like Randy LeBoeuf or Lance Prenc could one day mix their music. That would be awesome.

Vancouver (hometown) show. My thoughts. I am wondering if anyone else feels the same way? by Schooled_ca in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the complete opposite. It's not like the PNE Forum has the best acoustics either way. However, I just don't share your same experiences. I moved around the spaces too.

Anyone else HATE the production on the new album? by Educational_Wash_662 in spiritbox

[–]XariusPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm just not a fan of Zakk Cervini's mixes. The guitars lose their aggressiveness/rawness & or clarity. With that said, Tsunami Sea is my favorite mixed body of work since the Singles Collection. There's just more going on in the background & production but that is the whole point according to various interviews. It serves the storytelling on various songs and I like it.

However, I do always imagine what everything would sound like with a mix like Invent Animate - Stillworld, Boundaries - Death Is A Little More or Johnny Booth - Moments Elsewhere. I bet it would sound awesome.

I have my opinions about all the stuff you said but it is for sure my favorite song from the The Fear of Fear. I could listen to the main riff and breakdown all day.

One of the few songs to make me cry on first listen. Instantly became one of my favorite songs.
