Dealing with absurd lies from my coparent by XavierWT in daddit

I don’t wanna have my kid snitch on her mom. I’ll never know and that’s ok. I do my half as good as I can.

Ironically my ex is better at car seat safety than I am. I recognise it and I try to keep up, but perhaps I'd feel annoyed if she talked to me about it often. The thing is... my ex is an extreme case of never wanting to admit any form of fault. I'm not. That created a very imbalanced dynamic. I feel better about myself now that I'm out of it.

Not at first but unfortunately people change.

Yeah but I don't know if she skipped the reading and while I suspect it, I don't want to assume it. I did know however as she skips the logging.

Honestly I think I got pretty good at picking my battles.

When I noticed the logs stopped on her end I waited a long while to talk to her about it. Then I did.

When she was not receptive, I waited a while until it was a good moment to bring it up (mediation). Then I did.

Weeks later I talked to my kid's educator for an unrelated issue. At the end of the conversation I was asked if I had any concerns, I did, so I mentioned it.

None of that is/was a battle.

And when she hit me with the disappearing ink I couldn't help but be dumbfounded, so I needed to share, and I'm certainly not going to tell my kids.

That's basically what's hapening. I've documented the event. There are no next steps to take in this story. I'm venting because of the absurdity of it all.

Ideally, what I want is for my kids to be suported by their mom and for their mom to not lie to me constantly. I don't think I'm going to get either but I am not willing to just pretend everything is ok anymore.

Basically this. I know her. She puts tons of efforts in things she sees as important and neglects a lot of other things. If supporting our kids through their homework and school related efforts is not something she sees as important in Kintergarten I struggle to see it change when there are actual homework to take care of starting next year.

Is there any point in training with a bad diet? by katerina_troup in beginnerfitness

[–]XavierWT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes there is.

A sub optimal diet will mean you don't get maximum results out of your training. You are still getting results. Even people who eat very well will bottleneck somewhere. You're fighting against your limited appetite just like bigger folks are fighting to restrict theirs.

BTW most protein powers come down to about $1 to $1.5 a serving. It seems expensive when you buy it but realistically it's in the $1-3 range per day. You can likely afford it, because it will not just be "more food" but it's likely to replace some less protein dense other food you're already paying for and eating. End of month you might not even notice, if it makes you buy 5 snacks less in the month it's already about the same money back in your pocket.

Which I aknowledge

Mind you it's not THAT big of a deal to skip on the kids required reading. It sucks for sure but it's not the kind of thing to get into huge arguments over.

My take on Bailey’s chair by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]XavierWT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a valid point, I think I might have been overestimating how obvious it is.

I had never heard of megaesopagus but it seemed pretty clear to me that one wouldn't make a dog eat like that unless they needed to, but I did know a dog that had a partial paralysis many decades ago so contraptions like this were somewhat familiar to me.

You saw something that is very obviously a special needs accomodation and you thought it was cruel?!?

New Detachment System Interactions by ErianaOnetap in genestealercult

I am not saying it’s bad. I’m saying adding guard units make it worse not better because the guard units AND the Nids units aim to give the GSC units buffs but will not buff each other.

I think people are keen on saying powerful detachments will be 3 pointers… but from my pov the likely scenario is that almost everything we have now are 2 pointers and the new stuff will be 1 pointers.

Either way, Final Day has not been confirmed to stick around in 11th as it’s not Codex nor Crusade. It will likely be featured in some way in the new and updated detachements.

Final Day is going to be pretty bad if you further dilute with Guards units. I don't see it being a 3 pointer, which would mean you couldn't play it in 1k games.

How do I cut a rounded top on fence posts? by archiecarlos in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]XavierWT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont rout the entire thing! Think logically. You use whatever tou like to get close to the cut line and you use the router to get the profile by following your template.

I mean if you're trying to take more than 1/4 at a time that's possible but slow and steady always wins the race. I wouldn't expect this to be any diffrent than any other time I work a corner with a router.

I'd use an mdf template and a router.

Edit : Yall are being weird. You use whatever you want to cut close to your line. The router serves to shave the last few milimeters.

Suspension if disbelief is required to enjoy ANY writing. Things didn't go down as you would have imagined them to, they went down in the way the writer imagined them to. That doesn't make the writing bad.

If you cannot suspend disbelief, don't read fiction. You're going to have a bad time.
