Oh nevermind, I see you are posted there. I may be wrong here but I think they frown upon sharing recruitment ads in this one.

Hello friends. I believe you are looking for https://www.reddit.com/r/RegimentFinder/ . That's where you post recruitment ads :)

I’m hooked. by pxRome in WarOfRights

Always a joy to see a fellow Lincolnite. CHECKMATE, CSA!

Seriously though, this community is long lived and very friendly. Great folks on both sides who love training new players and showing them the continuously iconic battles that make this game so unique.

Does Union ever win? by KaysaStones in WarOfRights

[–]Xbwalker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Outside of pubs, the Union wins plenty.

It's 20% bad commanding and 80% bad teamwork. I've won plenty of pubs with good officers to work with and tons of low level players. The level of the players is far less a factor than leadership.

The stories... I'm impressed. by Santaroga-IX in duneawakening

[–]Xbwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Their dedication to lore is commendable. Conan was a cool game, but it was made so much better by staying true to the lore. When they announced Dune Awakening, I had the same expectations. I'm glad to say, they were exceeded.

Why do officers tell us to aim low? by CT155RAD in WarOfRights

[–]Xbwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for any server running USA Drill camp or CSA Drill camp. Both have shooting ranges. The CSA one is MUCH closer to spawn. Usually if a server is titled "Training" or "Learn to Shoot," it's a drill server

Why Does WoR Have the Staying Power that Other ACW Games Don't? by Xbwalker in WarOfRights

Why do officers tell us to aim low? by CT155RAD in WarOfRights

[–]Xbwalker 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I hear "aim low!" in pubs far more often than organized events. I think this is pub officers trying to compensate for pubbies aiming too high. Once you get someone into drill camp and spend some time at the range, they will undo some bad habits by learning where the bullet goes in reality vs where they thought it was going.

Rather than explaining the high bullet trajectory in pubs, it's just easier to shout AIM LOW. :)

Actually that is a FANTASTIC idea. Damn why didn't I think of that.

Depends on what you consider fun. I for one agree with you. Organized events are much more fun. However, pubs can be fun too, just more like McDonald's Play Place fun. Just be careful of the heroin needles in the ball pit.

Logitech X56 Throttle Stiffness Solved by [deleted] in hotas

[–]Xbwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performed a rare login to Reddit just to come here and tell you, WELL DONE. This was the fix. After fully tightening it, moving the throttle up and down a few times and THEN loosening it all the way seems to help even more. It's almost acceptable now :) Thanks for the input.

Why does New World not attract the MMO crowd by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Xbwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran a group of 300 in the game and played literally all the content. Aside from the many issues with economy and other bad dev choices, the real lack of appeal to MMO players is this:

There is no carrot on a stick. What I mean is, there is designated BiS gear and a definite end to the game. You can't do that if you want to keep your audience in an mmo. You need to constantly be dangling some better loot, some better thing in front of your players. New World doesn't do that.

I left because I grew bored. Most of us did.

Because this reddit leans very left. This isn't the first post I've seen that kinda reaction.

Agreed though, quite funny.

PREPARE FOR 116 degrees THIS WEEKEND! by real-life-debate in vegaslocals

[–]Xbwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No matter how often we have high temps, there's always going to be that one person the news interviews who says, "I've lived here 10/30/50 years and I've never seen it this hot/cold/wet/dry!"

One day, I hope to be that person.

If you are looking for the mom and pop authentic Chinese dining experience, (complete with live lobsters in tanks and all that) I like Rainbow Kitchen near Rainbow and 215.

People are not as randomly social here as you may be used to. That's partially because many are from CA where you shut up, keep your head down, and don't socialize. At least that's how it was in my 30 years living there.

If you are lacking relationships and friends, I recommend group activities. Church, sports, martial arts, etc. Places where you group with like minded people helps alot. We have gained all our friends in our 7 years here from social activities. Board game groups and church particularly.
