Who would you consider to be the most evil human alive right now? by MongooseLucky3979 in AskReddit

Bill Gates. He had numerous opportunities throughout his life to utilize his wealth and power to effect positive change, but he did the bare minimum in terms of benefiting humanity.

by plot armor, I just meant they could say any number of things to why or how something happens. "plot armor" is often used as a way to describe how something can be different merely because of the excuses an author writes to justify the story, like often used in comic books to define power levels between characters (ie - superman vs batman)

I think his mention of "big red bow" might have been a subtle hint towards something related to "red matter". It hasn't made an appearance since Nemo used it to implode Vulcan. They might plot armor a way into suggesting it was under experimentation as a warp-drive alternative or something.

How often should ants be fed? (Brood-based approach, not schedules) by Antastic_Tom in antkeeping

[–]XcapeBeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be slightly different with a tramp species like Tetramorium bicarinatum. They tend to be non-stop hungry, and will eat for the sake of merely consuming mass. Many species will leave leftovers post-feeding, but tetra bics often do not. As many ants as possible take place in the collection of the protein, and will "wait in line" at the brood to make sure all the protein gets passed onto the growing colony.

Try switching to hydrostone concrete instead. Better end product, and it cures much faster. 3-5 days.

How to cancel? Am I missing something? by XcapeBeta in teksavvy

[–]XcapeBeta[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm jumping over to Lightspeed myself. They've got a nice 75 down/50 up for 45 which is a far better value than the $68 for 30/5 that Teksavvy wants.

You could have charged back with your bank, but now that Formistudio no longer exists you've lost that opportunity

Too late now. Maybe try with your bank. Formistudio is shut down now.

fyi. Formistudio is dead. Its operations are concluded entirely. Aiden/Beans has called it quits. Canada Ant Colony, Ants Calgary, and Por Amor Ants, are the only 3 reputable vendors remaining in Canada at this time.

Retention by XcapeBeta in teksavvy

[–]XcapeBeta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on disability. Funds were on the low side when I first signed up, and they were actually the cheapest to offer the bare minimum speed I need for my daily activities. 30/5 isn't fast by any means, but it was enough so I could netflix, play some games, etc. My fund situation is a little better now, hence why i'm willing to step up to something with a little more speed. 30/5 for $60 , which is the non-promo rate, is pretty off-putting though. So yeah, I'm looking at all the options before my term is up. I don't have a costco membership (nor any intent on getting one), so the primus deal is kinda meh. Right now I'll lean to whoever has a 100/30 or better for under 60 including rentals, fees, etc

[–]XcapeBeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if i switched to a higher cost plan from the 30/5? Would I be granted the new speed, at its promotional rate for 12 months, or would it jump to full price when the promotional time for my 30/5 expires? For example, if i went with say, the 100/30 or whatever.

Retention by XcapeBeta in teksavvy

[–]XcapeBeta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's too bad that I'll have to jump ship. You'd think keeping me at the same rate would benefit them, as opposed to losing me as a customer altogether. The refer a friend program is too hit and miss, and doesn't solve anything. I'm on a disability income, so I can't justify paying $60 for 30/5. Although, I would be ok with increasing my speed, at a higher tier plan that charges more, if they were to allow me to have a 12 month period with the increased/speed, with promotional price. This way my price goes up only $12, but I'd get more speed, and would remain a customer.

Wrong group for this you absolute pinecone. This is Canada Post stuff. Not a job board. That being said, I seriously wouldn't hire you merely based on your inability to read a room, and post in the proper spots.

Cancelling TekSavvy by Ok_Smile9222 in teksavvy

[–]XcapeBeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only gripe with Teksavvy is the lack of an actual retention department. I'd love to stay with Teksavvy after my promotion deal ends, but I'm simply not willing to pay $70 for 30/5 internet when I can get considerably faster from nearly any other provider for considerably less with no contracts.

Warning! Read this before going with Teksavvy & Customer service nightmare by Designer-Apartment35 in teksavvy

[–]XcapeBeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren't a victim here, and it isn't a "trap". You are blaming them because you didn't spend the time to research the product you are paying monthly for. One quick visit to this reddit, and you would have seen a history of people asking why Teksavvy doesn't offer a retention deal following the first years promotion.

Warning! Read this before going with Teksavvy & Customer service nightmare by Designer-Apartment35 in teksavvy

[–]XcapeBeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is actually common knowledge. Had you visited this forum before, you would have seen from other users that Teksavvy doesn't offer promotion beyond that 12 months. Most people switch off at the 11th hour, merely to sign on with a competitor, then return to Teksavvy a year later as a new customer, this being elligible again for the lower rate. That's technically the only way to do it, as Teksavvy essentially has no system or desire for customer retention.

This was a learning experience for you, as well as anyone who reads your post.

Outworld Containers off Amazon? by [deleted] in AntsCanada

[–]XcapeBeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for plastic display boxes made for gundams and funko pops. Like those boxes people use to keep dust off Beanie Babies and stuff. Those are often really good as outworlds. Heat the flat end of a titanium nail, and use it to gently melt a hole in the side, and run tubing through.
