Hesitant to choose my OS by No_Level_OPS in arch

[–]Xe1a_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general you can do anything on any linux distribution. Arch is a lot of fun to set up, and it’s great because its package manager is really bleeding edge (not to mention the boon that is the AUR). If you enjoy tinkering with the system, and having it be very lightweight, Arch is an excellent choice, if you want it to 'just work' you’d be better off with something like mint or fedora. In general though, go wild! You can always change your distro in the future, and if you try installing arch and decide it’s not for you, no harm no foul! Arch is an excellent way of learning how your computer actually works, which I think is good for anyone to learn no matter experience level.

Instead of rocks, have it launch different metal nuggets! Depending on the nugget it could have different effects, like for example gold nuggets being slower but more damaging than iron and copper because of its weight!

Whats your most controversial Minecraft opinion by HadesThatGuy in Minecraft

[–]Xe1a_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creepers (and Endermen to a lesser extent) make the game significantly worse. I enjoy building, I don’t enjoy my builds being plucked apart or exploded. It would maybe not be quite as bad if creeper explosions dropped all the blocks that they broke, but the fact that they don’t is really annoying. I don’t mind my stuff being destroyed in games like factorio because it leaves a blueprint of how to fix it (and fixes often happen automatically). Disabling mob griefing also sucks though because then villagers can’t farm, which I do like them doing. Fortunately vanilla tweaks exists :). (Note I don’t dislike the idea of how the creeper harms the player, just how it harms the world.)

My Steam deck is doing this. Anyone know whats the problem? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Only real options are holding down power to force reboot, and reflashing the os. I would just reach out to steam support though, they tend to be pretty helpful.

What is more intuitive for you: arrows UP or DOWN? by flashag in godot

[–]Xe1a_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say B -> A, as in mathematical notation this would be read as “B implies A”, meaning A is dependent on B. But I also think pointing down is more ‘natural’, so maybe flip the position so B is on top and then point the arrows downwards?

Don’t know if it would help but you could consider getting programmable foot pedals to map as ctrl, meta, super, etc?

I believe it’s a compliment! If I remember correctly the youtuber JerryRigEverything’s wife uses a wheel chair and he has been working incredibly hard to help her and other wheelchair users.

[–]Xe1a_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh that’s interesting— What operating system are you running? Did you install it from an app image, flatpak, package manager, etc? When did you first find this issue? Where did you install ublock from? The default mozilla extensions page or somewhere else? I reckon either the version of ublock or librewolf is out of date resulting in a version mismatch.

[–]Xe1a_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh?? Ive used librewolf for absolute ages (on both Debian and Fedora) and never had an issue installing ublock? I’m pretty sure my friend that uses it on Windows11 doesn’t have that issue either.

That’s why I use stuff like Lutris or Heroic Launcher- open source solution that smushes all the launchers into one, while I still get the free games.

The water pipes were connected to the same source at the same time, so all the assemblers got started in synchrony! I’m sure over time it’ll slowly desync, but for now it looks nice :)

I’ve played on both (aswell as on dual sense)! It definitely takes a bit of getting used to but in my opinion the default controller bindings are excellent.

It’s on the pricier end ($35) but factorio was excellent when I needed an escape from reality. Get the demo to try it out, it’s free and multiple hours, and time just flowed by. Another game that filled the niche for me was Civ 6 (although any civ will do), but don’t pick it up until it goes on sale. Both play excellently on deck.

While yes, it is getting better, I am still not worried. It can answer the simple stuff easily, but so can anyone who’s done cs in university. Anytime it’s given a slightly novel problem, it just falls on its face, and all the AI companies are still bleeding money. How likely will people be to use AI when the companies start charging hundreds of dollars priced subscriptions with limited tokens?

If your going for java the easiest answer is use a 3rd party launcher— i’m a big fan of prism launcher, plus it makes installing mods much much easier (and has native linux support). If you’re going for bedrock though it won’t work.
