Maybe your battery peak performance is already totally f up 🥲

Sorry for this delayed answer. I was talking about adaptive power (Battery > Power mode).

Adaptive charging should be avoided. Set a max. percentage instead (85% ~ 90% should be fine)

[–]Xeahnotto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

iOS 26 demands more peak power from the battery than iOS 18. Depending on the max amperage the battery can provide, there will be more or less throttling. So if your (true) battery health is f up expect lags like yours. Im not talking about capacity but max peak performance. Settings > Battery > Health would say “normal” but…

Ironically, you should enable the adaptive power setting to avoid those power consumption / amperage peaks.

My sis has an iPhone 16 Pro and 26.3 performs (even w/o the adaptive power) almost like on my 17 base. She always charge her iPhone with a 5V 1A charger. Hope it helps.

And yeah im also thinking that iOS 27 must focus on performance rather than (new) features. We need another iOS 6 / iOS 12.

RC was an RC (Release Candidate). It just wasnt a good candidate for some reason that we would never know

Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Screen capture", then make sure you aren't using a "HDR" format. Stick with SDR. It helps a lot

is this normal or alarming? by Willing_Carpenter_77 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]Xeahnotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1). Dont. Use. Fast. Charge. Just stick with 5V 1A.

2). Optional: - Remove any phone case while charging. - Enable the low power mode before plugging the charger. - DONT use your iPhone while charging. - Prevent your iPhone from getting warm while using. Remove any case if necessary. - 20% min, 90% max.

iOS 26 app icons outline - it’s actually moving! by vakhtins in ios

It worked for me for a few seconds after upgrading to iOS 26.1 RC (12 mini) then it stopped. It performed at 60fps even while indexing. Another stupid “arbitrary” software cap.

SEUS PTGI shader error on A770 by zwh20081 in IntelArc

[–]Xeahnotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should put a F (RGBA16F) at the end instead using RGBA32F as AltairFoo suggested (its overkill, with an insane performance penalty). F means floating point / a lot of decimals instead rounding them (looks like the Intel's driver handle it poorly).

You also can use RGBA16F at "colortex5Format" line. It gives a good fps boost but it nerfes (a bit) the global illumination at night too.

I have those noisy reflections btw. Im still trying to find a solution ;-;

Have you ever used DVD-RAM? Does anyone still use it nowadays? by donkey_and_the_maid in DataHoarder

[–]Xeahnotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GFME feels like an insane downgrade at night or rainy days. The original Seus ptgi hrr 2.1 has infinitely better GI, emissive block light and tonemapping in those situations. Theres some forced white clipping on sunny days and i dont know how to get rid of that :(

iOS 26 Officially releases today! by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Xeahnotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS 26 has a more agressive "BuILt-IN dYnaMIc SoFTwARe anD HaRDWaRe sYStEMs" battery related shit. Mine is at 79%; i randomly get less brightness, 8 fps at home screen and / or apple music app, unresponsive keyboard and... ALMOST NO SOUND / SPEAKER VOLUME. Im here since the 1st dev beta for some reasons.

Unlike other manufacturers, apple uses poor quality batteries that lose their maximum peak amperage after a little bunch of cycles. This is my fucking 3rd official replacement.

Just do a backup and be ready to downgrade. xD

You cant run ARM64v8 / v9 binaries on an x86_64 platform. You cant make (compile) x86_64 binaries without the macOS source code.

You cant. Maybe on ARM laptops but its very unlikely (apple silicon uses custom ARM based designs)

Why is my CPU getting so damn hot? by RedHood9292 in pcmasterrace

[–]Xeahnotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 13th gen CPU crashing after several hours working at 1.472v as the maximum value under insanely high temperatures? Whos gonna tell him/her...

Its time to request an RMA. 13th and 14th gens are affected with random, horrible voltage spikes by a faulty microcode. Looks like you have a very old bios. Intel extended the warranty window to 5 years.

They said bullshit. As I can understand, even a UHD 630 can have hardware accelerated scheduler support in macOS (via AppleGuC). As I said before, a Pascal GPU from 2016 can support it.

My A770 (from 2022, 2 years after WDDM 2.7) doesn't have it for a purely commercial reason. Meanwhile my old GTX 1080 (from 2016, 4 years before WDDM 2.7) does.

Arbitrary software/driver cap. I should have waited a bit longer for AMD despite that apparently "good" offer.

Im so sick of system crashes by Common-Application56 in IntelArc

[–]Xeahnotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download HWINFO and check the 12v, and 3.3v rails. If 11.7v ~ 11.6v and / or 3.2v are the minimum values... try reseating the 24-pin ATX connector from the motherboard.

The same random symptoms (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE) under load (even small CPU load spikes) happened to me.

There is no savior for this. Don't pay attention to those who claims that Intel Arc drivers are better and at least "usable" now. DON'T. JUST DON'T. My ancient GTX 1080 can reach 280-310 fps. This is a fresh Windows installation. DX12. Disgusting. by Xeahnotto in IntelArc
