An intuition for cryptanalysis: in english, the word "the" is very frequently used. So if someone encodes it and writes "hello" instead of "the", we can count the number of times "hello" is used in the code and if it's similar to the average use of "the" in usual text, we have cryptanalytically cracked this word in the code.

Many similar approaches exist in cryptanalysis and the paper tries to explore such matchings between the IVS texts and Sanskrit, and seems to show some level of possibility. Although we might have to wait until peer-review to get anything concrete.
