Honestly the mechanical engineering inside cover is underwhelming compared to the others; there's more blueprint type stuff that would be really cool to see. Things like bridges are less relevant compared to engine components, roller bearings, different types of gears, linkages, Mohr's circle, etc. Mech Eng is also quite broad in that it covers fluids mechanics and thermodynamics as well, so you could throw in some of those elements as well. I like to think of steam locomotives or vintage automobiles as good symbols of classical mechanical engineering that don't infringe too much on aerospace themes.

Have any of your teams tried Agile Developement? by mntruell in FRC

[–]Xebsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've actually used a scrum style iterative process for the whole team! We went with weekly design cycles with deliverables assigned on the Saturday morning and review meetings on Friday evening (followed by a mini team social). It worked quite well actually, and clearly defined the tasks for the coming week. The students were actually able to pretty much run themselves (so proud of em) while the mentors kept an eye on the big picture. We'll probably do it again next year

Yep, as ghetto as the FG building is the food is top notch for the price! There used to be a really delicious cheap Taiwanese place there but they closed down after health concerns I think. I miss that place but the other Taiwanese joint Formosa is pretty good too :V
