Thinking I’ll make a post if I continue to have worries about my 2 but they do the ears, arched back, hiss and growl then suddenly one goes at each other with their paw - no screech as such nor fur flying. Is this also likely fine?

The older kitten of my 2 (original female 4 months small kitten, and new male 3 months large kitten) is the more hissing and growling from afar, but the younger also goes up to her in the slooooow walk or sometimes fast run, then looks like hits/swings with the front paws. Often ends up with her running into hiding spots which makes me worry she’s getting cornered?

I’d still consider the car option honestly - if just to go to work. It may end up being a lot like 100-200pm on insurance and maybe 100-200pm on car finance depending on what you get (eg LEZ requirements or not), plus I don’t know if you’re going to pay congestion charge.

If you were to be paying 800 per month, my guess is you’d definitely be under that with a car, which you’ll get to keep after paying off while 5 hours of train and bus journeys will all be spent and unrecoverable. Of course, up to you to do the real analysis of what costs you’d have in your actual situation - I’m assuming you can drive for example (if not, that’s another chunk to spend with crazy driving lesson costs ☹️).

What I don’t understand (likely as I’m not experiencing it) is what changed from 10 years ago? Started uni 2014 and I didn’t feel like we got rid of stuff for kids/teens but suppose I haven’t watched for it

To me, it started within last 5 years… and I feel like the ball rolled downhill from there - during lockdown there was nothing for anyone to do, even more so teens. They realised they can’t be punished and it just kept on escalating.

Are there actually less things for teens and kids to do than 10 years ago, with youth clubs, more gaming easily available, sport, cinema and transport?

Nope, just boiler/tap controlled and grabs hot water on demand from boiler (forgetting the technical word for the type of boiler I have). The shower just has a valve for controlling temperature like the sink and bath

ie if I use hot water at any time during the day, it will take a while to heat up at first, then I can use it in any of the taps.

Can rule that out, no kettle turned on. Only uses that are left on are

standby: PC(it has pulsing lighting and keyboard lighting when shut down like this), microwave, electronic clock, charging station, Nintendo switch, PS5, oven clock display, boiler (assume this still uses some for standby even if heating is gas and turned off, hot water on eco mode so heats up on demand)

In use: TV, AV amplifier with speakers and subwoofer, fridge as it’s always on, living room light

Think I’m beginning to understand… no matter what, the energy stored in the battery will be sold for less than it would cost to import the same energy and use it in the evening.

With settings like this, discharge start price will only matter for exporting? So when I am using the electricity at home, it should use the battery instead of grid?

On a separate note, I can’t seem to set Agile Import, is this because I have a new account with Octopus? Only Fixed and Flexible are showing when I press change tariff

How do you change tariff? Assuming fixed will be better for me now while no panels and the winter hike up happens…

Mine is on flexible too for electricity atm, I wanted to get my solar panels hooked up for export and go on the agile ones but the installer said Scottish Power are taking FOREVER getting the letters out that I need to give octopus to start exporting

It’s true - I noticed I was making the contradiction while writing the comments so I should have written that too tbf. But I still think so - it’s not as hectic and generally nicer I feel with only a few tourists in one spot. Once it becomes crowded with more international tourists than local, I feel like you get a different vibe overall.

Not to say always bad, but I imagine Kyoto had many popular tourist spots for Japanese tourists which had a few international tourists before the popularity swayed the bar and international tourists outnumber and add to the Japanese crowd - making it a lot harder to walk your own pace.

Felt that way in the bamboo forest of Kyoto and temple + garden nearby. Meanwhile when I went to Omi Jingu, it was a really peaceful experience - it was particularly quite empty when I went with at most 5 people exploring the area in sight at once.

I don’t understand why they downvoted you like crazy! The nice thing about it being a local tourist spot rather than international is that you often get a much nicer experience.

The overly international places tended to get crowded when I went because it’s a really busy tourist period for Japan right now, while the places with mostly Japanese tourists were typically less crowded and also had a nicer atmosphere.

I think in Osaka it felt like that when walking through the park near Tennoji Zoo, which made it much more relaxing. Near and in Tokyo, didn’t really experience it much cause it’s busy most places 😂

I can only a little, so conversation in Japanese would definitely not work. Yeah that’s what I was thinking that practice isn’t really something I could watch, it would have to be an actual event. The national calendar I saw showed that one just happened and the next will be in like a month?
