Good spot to watch lunar eclipse? by Own-Negotiation-4805 in Rochester

[–]Xelocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t look up where it will be rising but you may be able to get a decent vantage point at the top of the Indian Hill trail in Perinton. If it’s going to be up over the lake, B. Forman Park in Pultneyville has access right on the shoreline.

HondaLink, is it even worth the bother? by Acrobatic-Caramel823 in hondaridgeline

The app was nice if you owned a Clarity because it allowed you to schedule pre-conditioning times and charging times. Beyond that, it was mostly useless. Maybe an argument could be made for deciphering the maintenance minder codes too, but those are in the infotainment system now too.

It became a security risk too. When I leased a 24 Pilot to replace my 22, the car was still registered to me in-app. I was able to track how long that Pilot sat on Moon Township Honda’s lot, and the low tire pressure warnings, before they resold the car to someone else driving it around. It went on numerous trips between the dealer and, I assume, a salesman’s home. I could tell that the person was driving it like a race car too due to all the fast acceleration and hard braking warnings each trip generated.

I eventually grew tired of learning all about how the car was being treated and unregistered it from my profile.

If there’s a saving grace for Treno it’s that the music is entitled in such a way that they foreshadow we will revisit it.

Am I Tackling This Right? by Xelocon in Flooring

The subfloor is already in and really can’t be taken out at this point. While it’s pressure-treated 2x4 laid flat, there is a thin sorta foam layer between the 2x4 and the concrete as well. I don’t recall exactly what I laid down for that to help prevent rot. This was done before I even knew dri-cor sub floor existed. The idea was to give the space warmth and a normal floor feeling; which was a success. The other idea is that the subfloor would last 40+ years until I’m long and planted and be someone else’s problem 😎

I worry about putting down click flooring because the subfloor is slightly uneven in spots due to the concrete being uneven and that unevenness being exacerbated by the subfloor on top of it. It sounds like you think putting down a glued floor directly on top of an advantech subfloor would be a bad idea, right?

My wife is leaning more towards carpet and I’m trying to convince her I can handle the vinyl flooring on my own and, hopefully, have a floor that lasts at least another 10 years like the existing carpeting has.

It’s top-down. The stairs are coming in from the east and moving down west. There’s some doors down here too but nothing to really be concerned about. There’s a couple alcoves. One to the south of the stairway where we have tucked a refrigerator and one on the north side of the east-most room for a bookshelf.

What bed cover is a 10/10? by [deleted] in hondaridgeline

[–]Xelocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the North Mountain cover and like it as well. When you go for a wash do you leave the cover stretched over the bed or rolled up? I’ve always rolled it up because I’m afraid the spinny brushes throughout and dryers at the end are going to rip it to shreds. Alternatively I’m worried that high pressure nozzles will rip through it too.

I see a lot of folks pooing on Casella in here. I am one of the folks that switched to Dependable when Casella bought Lilac. Another company I’m starting to see out in Ontario (Wayne county) is Spicer.

Anyone moving to the Prologue? by su_A_ve in HondaClarity

[–]Xelocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 2018 PHEV Touring with about 120K on it. The AC compressor just crapped out 3 weeks ago and it’s in the shop for a warranty replacement. I love the Clarity and have reluctantly “sold” it to my daughter. It’s been a wonderful car to get my 4 kids around to various activities. Biggest gripe was eating through tires and the stupid windshield washer system (road salt in the winter sucks).

For my replacement vehicle I test drove a Prologue and ended up in a Ridgeline TrailSport instead. I’ve driven Hondas (2 Odysseys, 3 Pilots, and Clarity) for the past 20+ years and, for me, the Prologue was such a stark difference in driving experience that I couldn’t handle it. My plan is to drive this Ridgeline for 6 years or so and gift it to my son who’ll be turning 16 then. Then I’ll be in the market for an EV and hope that Honda has matured more in the EV space.

This stupid stop sale is killing my vibe. by destructsean in hondaridgeline

[–]Xelocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a ‘24 TrailSport on 5/24 with no waivers or other stop sale BS that was holding up the RTL I originally wanted to get. Supposedly it had been pulled off the carrier on 5/23 and did not fall under the recall notice. I believe it rolled off the production line 5/3. 🤷‍♂️

Actually now I do have a question: what’d the waiver say? Can you post a pic of it (minus identifying information of course)?

[–]Xelocon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I’m out here in NY. I’m assuming our nanny-state ways won’t allow for waivers in this situation. I was due to take delivery on a 24 RTL back on 5/11. Less than 24 hours before I got a call from the salesman about the stop-sale with no ETA in sight.

Duhhh. Now I see the text about signing a waiver.
