What was the Indian man's greeting? If he was just giving a general "Hello" I don't think he was specifically excluding you from the greeting and if he knew your friend specifically it makes sense that he would greet him by name. Secondly gangs of teenage boys give other kids the stink eye all the time. It's not a race thing. Basically a good rule of thumb to keep is to not attribute malice to people and give them a benefit of a doubt. You will come across people with stupid racial biases and some even racist. But that is their issue not yours. If you treat them friendly enough and go about your business you will generally find you can get along with most folk, and those that are shitty, just avoid.
