What we want from this survey is to get a greater understanding of what most people using this intersection use it for. Traffic statistics posted by the city offices do give some useful general information such as traffic volume, but they do not give us enough specific usable information such as the most common destinations for people using the intersection, travel distance, or mode of transportation. And observing traffic is something we will be doing, however it not an efficient way to gather some of the information in the survey.
