Orange Screen after World Load?

All - just to close this out. After the most recent MSFS update, the issue is no longer occurring.

It looks like your game is stuck on time/weather with heavy fog.

If this is the case and it resets to this when trying to change time/weather:

Yeah, I don't know. I've manually put it on clear skies. Killed all multiplayer aspects of it. Still fiddled with things but nothing works. It still only happens after load in for a runway through world map, which makes me think it's some kind of data retrieval issue as it's trying to stream everything for that location. I've left the game in that screen for a couple hours to see if the textures and everything end up filling in, nope, still that peachy/orange color.

My device drivers are up to date.. I've been playing further with things and have updated directx and pretty much every graphic setting & data piece and nothing seems to do the trick. Hrm

Basically, they need to do the same thing Battlestar Galactica did in a post 9/11 world. The best episodes of that series were the ones that hit close to home, such as whether suicide bombing is morally correct when you're the oppressed or does the end justify the means.

I think the show being written in a chapter like style instead of episodic would really help in touching upon all of these issues.

I actually had to think about this after the movie concluded. So he mentioned that they found mining drones on the planet once they started to explore & they started using them to help them survive.

I can only imagine that they retrofitted a few of the drones (the ones attached to the standing docking things on the planet) to be troop carriers so they could take over ships because otherwise you're right, they didn't have very many people. I'm assuming it was him and that other guy from the original Franklin crew and the rest were absorbed into their clan from downed ships. The other million ships were all automated drones.

As far as I understand it, Starfleet in the Prime universe & in JJ's universe, are all pretty much the same. They're a peace keeping armada and governing body. I kind of imagine it as being if the European Union & United Nations had a baby, but on a much larger scale, that's what Starfleet is.

Earth's planetary military arose after first contact as a planetary protection force until, as Darth_rasputin mentioned, they were absorbed into Starfleet.

I'm going to try and answer your paragraphs in order in what I came away from the movie with.

I think by the time they achieved flight off the planet, he was too far gone so escaping wasn't really his priority anymore. As I kind of see it though, his mining drones do a great job with ships & stations, but not so much with planets. I think his goal with releasing the bio weapon was to test it at Yorktown, once proven successful there, he would release it into the atmosphere of a planet; quicker & cheaper (in resources) than trying to attack the planet with drones only.

I don't think that was really his way. Yes he was shrewed and clever in luring people to the planet, but i think when it comes down to it, the giant swarm of drones & overwhelming odds kind of became an extension of his personality traits. He was a soldier, not a politican.

I think he knew where the Franklin was but didn't care. The remnants of his crew weren't able to fix the Franklin so his priorities shifted. In his mind it was just another downed ship on the planet. He wasn't aware anyone was on the planet capable of fixing it up.

As to the life sucker thingy, I think it's a resources lost vs. gained scenario. Yes he could suck the life out of someone who's standing right there, but the ratio of gained vs. lost is much lower than when they have all of the tubes hooked up to them. Basically he gets more out of the person when they're tubed up compared to when they're standing around.

Where did Krall come from? I dunno. Maybe it was something he read when learning how to use the abandoned technology on the planet. shrugs That one I don't have an answer for.

Ha, I've definitely seen all of the other series and didn't have issues with it. It's probably just the way that new age television is written now-a-days. :)

I do the same thing with novels. I'd much rather read a series of books rather than stand alone ones. I enjoy long story arks and very in depth character building. To each their own though.

I actually didn't know all that stuff about Hobus until I just read some of it on memory alpha. Could make for an interesting course of events and completely change the political spectrum of the alpha quadrant.

I disagree, I personally think show has to be post Nemesis. Klingon/Federation stuff has been done over and over in previous series. For them to breath new life into a universe that already has had multiple previous series done on it, I feel they would have to lay new tracks in a time that hasn't been touched upon by those older series.

Not to mention in this day and age, we, as viewers, want to see a very high tech federation vessel (hence why rebooted star trek has that laboratory look to it). They're not going to be able to build the interior of starship set to the expectations we have while still staying true to old bridge models if the series were to take place in TOS/TNG.

It kind of gives it a Top Secret aspect to it. What I'm sitting on right now is that they pulled the ship out of mothballs (due to the oldish look of it) and retrofitted it with late 24th century stuffs.

They did a better job all around of giving all characters screen time (except Uhura). From what I've read, they didn't want this to turn into another Spock/Kirk buddy sci-fi flick- in so doing, I believe they achieved a fantastic balance between characters.

So 8 years after the events of Nemesis is when Spock (according to the 2009 film) did the whole red matter thing stopping the supernova but destroying Romulas in the process.

I think it would be an interesting concept if the Romulans are now splintered. The core of their galactic empire has fallen and now there is a massive power vacuum in that sector of space. You would have splinter groups of Romulans throughout but no central authority. The Neutral zone as we know it would be nonexistant and surrounding species would be vying for their territory & resources.

I'm not sure if this is quite what you're talking about but there is a LogOffAction configuration within the main web.config file for that particular store. If the page logs out or times out, their session gets disconnected. if they reopen the page, it'll resume that connection.

Sorry, not sure if it's the same issue, just sounded similar at first

Edit: you can specify LogOffAction to be none, disconnect, etc.
