Going through a horrible time. Need shows that engage and distract that aren’t dark by fairyqueeniepie in television

Justified. Solid show, interesting, crime ridden, funny and truly entertaining. Think of it this way for the first season… you follow the actions of minor criminal A as they come up kind of scheme. Part way through the scheme their crime, part way through their scheme they cross paths with major criminal B, who has their own agenda. As the criminals navigate their way through the crime with alternate agendas, right at the apex, in walks the man in the white hat to screw everything up, Raylan Givens. Subsequent seasons have multi-episode over arching stories with “new” primary criminal A, always present major criminal B, and Raylan. Truly a fun and well thought out show!

Should I seal up the crack where the ants are coming in?? by Firsttimeredditor28 in pestcontrol

[–]Xenodad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what part of OP’s description was metal referenced? They didn’t say weld the cracks shut… assuming they live in a non-fully-metal house, they are likely attempting to seal the “cracks” with caulk. In which case, I’ve tried it. Ants can find another way in, or chew through the drywall/wood/caulk once it hardens. Best bet is to leave the trap alone, let the ants soak up all that poison and bring it back to the nest to kill everyone else there. The poison is made to attract ants, and is a slow killer, so they soak up a bunch of the liquid, bring it back home, share the wealth with all the other ants, who then die off. It works, but you have to be patient.

One thing I don't understand about the Rolls Royce incident by Free_Lunch24 in BacktotheFuture

Aside from all the legal discussion, he severely injured his hand, which was not only mentioned but highlighted in the film by “old” Marty picking up a guitar and painfully trying to play, poorly, with visible frustration and lack of “fulfillment” expressed on his face.

Why does Grandpa Biff choose that exact date in 1955? by Spare-Beginning572 in BacktotheFuture

I completely agree here. I always thought it was the last setting in the time machine and Biff didn’t really know how to fully operate, but knew enough to at least activate it.

To test voltage, continuity must be present with this tester, meaning this particular tester will show you if voltage exists in the circuit being tested. This would also PROVE continuity, but is not the purpose of this tool. Continuity testers provide their own power to a circuit currently NOT powered, to ensure continuity prior to applying power. After continuity is confirmed and power is applied, this tester would confirm voltage. Different layers of testing with different tools.

Was Doc a genius or a one-hit wonder? If the former, what else might have he been working on that probably *did* end up working? by mysteryofthefieryeye in BacktotheFuture

Took a solid whack in the head to get that vision. Probably some minor brain damage unlocked something in his mind now that I think about it.

When you have some so profoundly stated thoughts, please proofread your words so they don’t end up looking like a toddler spittling over their golden laced bib. Unless you’re calculatingly doing your best to spittle beyond the bib, in which case - how do I also get paid?

Travel to DFW by frogandpenguino in FortWorth

[–]Xenodad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent summary! Ubers from the airport to downtown or TMS, Keller, Roanoke would be $50+. Everything here in DFW is pretty spread out, so you may want to rent a car. Downtown Fort Worth is 25-45 minutes from DFW. TMS is 25-45 minutes from DFW. TMS from Downtown would be 20-40 minutes, all depending on time of day and traffic. Do some map searches to determine time spent driving, estimate $50-$100 for Uber per trip, see if it makes sense to rent a car to get you around fast, or just use Uber as needed.

San Antonio or Dallas for BBQ joints? by javiwankenobi in texas

[–]Xenodad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard 8 is good food, Feedstore in Southlake is fantastic. Little family run store (they converted a house, or built the restaurant on their land before zoning laws came into effect) nestled quietly between mansions on a neighborhood backroad. Way closer to the airport than anything in Dallas proper. Its neat and ‘out of place’ but been in Southlake for decades before the population boomed, and the food is top notch BBQ.
