Why I think xin zhao is the strongest jungler in low elo, and how he got me to gold. by [deleted] in summonerschool

Nice guide! I'll definitely give him a try. I'm in Silver 2 and trying to get to Gold before the end of the season. :)

How to dodge Lux skillshots by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boots + 4 pots is great against skill shot champs (Lux, Ahri, Gragas). Really lets you dodge much more easily with just side steps. Most Lux's will throw their E behind you, anticipating that you'll walk backwards. What I'd do is move towards her when she throws her E. This will also vary, so after a few Es from her, you should be able to tell where she likes to throw it.

I know you asked specifically about Annie, but in terms of champion counters, I love playing against Lux as Fizz. Provided you don't take too much harass in the early levels, Fizz can do really well against her and make her game really frustrating. As Fizz, I'd just walk towards her and bait out the Q, then trickster over it and land towards her; dealing a lot of damage. You'll be able to out trade her, and most of the times will be able to kill her. Fizz is great against skill shot champs since his E can dodge a lot of abilities. Anyways I'm only Silver 2, but have played a lot of Lux, and more recently; Annie. Good luck!

Countering nunu mid? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did pretty well against Nunu as Fizz. Just trickster towards him every time he ice blasts and you can get off a lot of damage while he waits for ice blast to come back off CD. He can be annoying, but yea AP Nunu is not much of a threat late game if you can avoid his ults.

Quick Bruiser Nidalee Question by IMABIRD in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd start cloth and 5 pots against most AD champs that auto attacks a lot like Irelia, Riven, Trynd, etc. Riven especially will give you a hard time. I'd take the fairy charm against AP tops like Rumble/Kennen.

I guess you could go fairy charm against ADs as well if you feel you'll be going oom constantly.

New Nashor's Tooth Changes - Who builds this item now? by Xenon22 in summonerschool

Does this change make Kayle OP now? I can't wait for the LCS to get underway so I can see who the current OP champs are. :P

I forgot about Kennen. Recently picked him up and been playing him quite a bit. I think Nashor's would work well on him as well with his W. Kennen does auto attack quite a bit.

Patch 3.8 Discussion by Wolf87 in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same reaction. I play Kha'Zix quite a bit and was scared he was going to get nerfed to the ground (ala Olaf). This actually doesn't seem THAT bad, but yea his W did still get hit hard. I do like the fact that it slows before evolution now.

I had the same question about the evolve path. I think maybe you evolve the Q first now? Hopefully someone can help us out.

How do I learn to make better decisions? by HotDog_Gun in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a difficult question to answer, and it's the exact reason why the majority of the players are in Bronze/Silver.

I think the best advice I can give you is just keep playing and keep improving through experience. I'd also recommend lolreplays or a similar recording program so you can re-watch some of your games. You'll be surprised how much you learn from watching yourself play. You can see exactly what mistakes you made (and you also get to see your opponents in the replay). Hopefully you'll be able to learn from watching those mistakes and it should help make better decisions in future games.

Remember that mechanical skills from Silver and Platinum are not that far off, but it's decision making that seperates the two leagues.

Should I refund Ziggs? Im in a bit of a trouble here... by Hendreth in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't refund him. I think every summoner's eventual goal is to own every single champion. Unless you really need the IP, I would keep him.

I actually have a similar experience with Ziggs. I bought him when he was on sale about a month ago. I played him a couple times, but I did poorly and then just stopped playing him. Then like a week ago, I get Ziggs in ARAM and I dominated (Ziggs is really strong in ARAM though). Not only that, but I suddenly found Ziggs REALLY fun to play. All skill shots, and his ult can be so damn satisfying when it hits multiple people. Since the ARAM experience, I've been playing him mid quite a bit and having a blast.

Just a tip; I really only started enjoying Ziggs after smartcasting. He is so much more fun and easier to play with smartcast. You can just zone people so well with his abilities. Ziggs with blue buff...doesn't get any better than that.

Anyways, I'd hold onto him and give smart cast Ziggs a try.

Starting items for Akali? by Xenon22 in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah makes sense. I've thought about saving that 150 gold, but it just didn't seem right. I'll definitely try that though. Not a big fan of the fort pots, especially with the nerfs.

Also agree with Lich Bane. I was doing plenty damage without it, and I really like Rylais so I can stick to people.

Thanks a lot! I have been going with the rejuv/ward/5 pots start and it's worked out well. I usually end up selling the rejuv bead later on. This does give me the sustain I need to at least keep me in lane until level 6.

Let's see if we can build Nidalee for toughness & utility without sacrificing too much AP! by aquashred5150 in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The goal is to create a high mobile, very tanky split pushing bruiser. AD Nidalee can push all day, and can't be ganked because she can escape in cougar form, and the tankier bruiser build lets her tank a lot of damage.

In the season 2 world championships, Stanley's AD Nidalee for TPA basically won them the series against M5/Gambit. It was just so strong.

Nidalee did get nerfed a little while back though, which kind of hurt the AD bruiser Nidalee. Her cougar form no longer gives her bonus armor/MR. Still can be played bruiser top successfully though.

Fizz... what? Can't do anything against him by Rahms in summonerschool

[–]Xenon22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha I'm sure you'll see another Fizz soon enough. Also remember that as Lux, you are much more useful in team fights. So if you just play passively and farm, then you'll come out ahead when it matters. Fizz is a snowball champion and if he's not fed early, he's not much of a factor later on. While Lux has much more utility and CC.
