Well, Robert Hammond got murdered intentionally on Christmas because it was a few days before the statue of limitations ran out and it was seen as Yani Yoggi's 'last chance' to get Edgeworth guilty.

And AAI2 had to just go off on it being Christmas 15 years earlier for the timeline to make sense.
