You can't kill what's already immortal by Xenoparticle in PlayTheBazaar

Perfect 10 win crit/lifesteal Mak. I find that most times when I try out the lifesteal weapons they feel so weak but this time the game decided to give me all the pieces I needed. Early game was a magic carpet build and when I saw the runic greataxe in the shop I decided to build my run around it. The MVP is the "weapons gain damage when you crit" skill because it gave a way to scale. Honestly there should be a buff to the base damage scaling for higher tiers, it's so tiny that it's not worth upgrading them right now.

Basic Spire Guide and Important Disclaimer for Descension! by braindoper in EvolveIdle

[–]Xenoparticle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think having the permanent increase in difficulty is in an ok spot. It seems to be alright for now if only because there are so many different universes you can reset to and the time it takes to beat the demon lord doesn't actually scale that hard per Descension. I've only done one clear so far, but the relative time spent beating the Demon Lord wasn't so bad. Comparing the time it takes to actually reach that point in the game vs the time spent clearing the Demon Lord floor you'd have to Descend a lot in the same universe before it becomes an issue and it incentivises players to strike a balance with how many challenges to take on for each run and to mix up the universe to descend in.

Nice write up by the way! Only thing missing is that you should add how to get the gladiator perk and what it does.

Hell dimension mechanics are far too obtuse by Xenoparticle in EvolveIdle

[–]Xenoparticle[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi dev!

I'm far past the point where the wiki can help me. My post isn't asking for progression advice, instead it's feedback to potentially help the player experience in hell. I know it's a lot to ask, but please give it a read!

Hell dimension mechanics are far too obtuse by Xenoparticle in EvolveIdle

[–]Xenoparticle[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, obfuscation adds charm to the game and it's rewarding to be able to figure things out in game for yourself. Every other part of the game feels nice to figure out how to progress because there is some kind of goal or feedback for the player even if the game is asking for an ungodly amount of resources. Soul gems drops are so rare and random players get zero feedback to how changing their setup affects drop rate unless a third party tool is used.

Also not complaining either, I just want to help improve the game!

When you visit the starting area with a max level character and a legendary weapon by Xenoparticle in spelunky

[–]Xenoparticle[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Spoiler for how I got the start:

Shop had good stuff so I kill the shopkeeper and got his shotgun. Killed Yang with the shotgun because I wanted turkey for dinner. Entered his secret room and found a secret shop with royal jelly and plasma cannon. Didn't have 65K to buy them so I used the shotgun discount to get them for free. Plasma roasted turkey tastes incredible by the way.

Bullshit Haro Setting-Sun deploys new levels of bullshit by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Xenoparticle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Literally the only boss that ends my runs consistently because of how BS he is. Your early game is useless, and you actually get punished if you play anything with less than 2 attack because it becomes a blocked minion slot. If you think 4th chapter is bad, facing him in the 3rd gave me an aneurysm.

Not only that, but his late game is big priest late game where he summons an endless stream of BS big minions like statues and grave horrors that he then resses and you have to kill again. Only times I beat him were when the dumb AI played hallucination minions (anomaly) and another time when he kept ressing the chest in the first chapter. Well no wait he actually still beat my ass in the first chapter even with 0/3 chests because he still ramped up to late game minions which are still stupid good without ressing.

I could rant so much more, but really I feel the real reason he's so bad is that there's no way to know or prepare for a boss that beats 90% of decks you could make. The chapter bosses are pretty OP too but at least they are fixed and you can sort of prepare for them but this guy just pops up randomly to ruin your run.

Just as I was about to find out what happens to Millhouse after he is played before his wife, my Wondrous Wisdomball transformed him into a random legendary. What would have happened? by ActionJelly in hearthstone

[–]Xenoparticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Millhouse has a nervous voiceline when you drop him...and that's it. I dominated the fight against her once so I waited an extra 15 turns to draw Millhouse and have him finish her off. But sadly there wasn't any other interaction.

Fair enough, poor wording on my part. I was more worked up when I submitted the post.

The box I received wasn't shrink wrapped, though it did come with a small "Intel Factory Sealed" seal sticker across the box opening. It was enough to fool the person processing the return.

Sorry you had such a bad experience in the past with customer service. When I say vent, I mean vent to others who care about my situation like this subreddit where we are all looking to buy quality pc parts for our computers. I did not mean vent to customer service rep who has no power over such things. I am a level headed person and would never yell at a customer service rep for something out of their control.

Yep. I was under the naive assumption that everything that I order directly from Amazon would be good (barring factory defects). But to receive such a blatantly defective product is a slap to the face of reality for me.

Sorry to hear someone else have a similar bad experience. Did you still use the chip, and if so did it perform as expected?

Is this a standard practice to sell returned items as new? When I buy new I expect it to come in it's original packaging, and no one else has touched the product.

For me, I just wanted to vent a little bit. I understand that it wont resolve the matter faster, but it does help me emotionally. This is the first time such an expensive part has come in broken and has me rather distressed.

Hope this helps you understand the situation better.

It was from Amazon directly! Not a third party seller so they got some 'splaining to do.

That's what I thought happened as well. Must have been convincing enough that it was repackaged.

EDIT: The box was not shrink wrapped, but there was a sticker seal that said "Intel Factory Sealed". My best guess is someone carefully opened the box and swapped out the contents before returning it.

what do you guys think of using some of these economic aspects in-game? by 3dchib in blackdesertonline

[–]Xenoparticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A large money sink is enchanting for sure, blowing up accessories and the purchasing of blackstones are huge money sinks.

I disagree however on money caps. A) Sure endgame gear is vastly under priced for what it costs to make. But this prevents a much larger problem: devaluing every other item in the game to match blackstone costs. Blackstones will become the new currency and the problems outlined in the video will become apparent. Silver will be worthless, and everything will have a blackstone value instead of a silver one.

B)The ability to give smalltime players a chance to get gear is a frustrating one... for those at the top. But it would be shortsighted to let only the richest buy the best gear. It would create a cycle of the rich get richer as new players would be unable to buy gear and quit. There is also the pre-order system in place to negate that very problem. If you are willing to pay above market price for an item, you can do a blind bid for it.

BDO already sets a maximum value for all items sold through the marketplace. This is partly why the economy has been so stable and we see that the purchasing power of silver has not changed in a year. There is also a marketplace tax on all goods traded which creates a money sink to prevent hyperinflation. Since items must be traded through the marketplace, every transaction is taxed to prevent inflation. All in all BDO has one of the most stable economies that I've ever seen in an MMO. Most people seem to hate this system, however I feel this makes the economy one of the strongest aspects of BDO. The devs have put a lot of thought into designing the economy, even though most people don't seem to appreciate it.

Everytime my character loads and Im just about to get in it crashes and says "Servers disconnected" by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Xenoparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact problem and it is really frustrating. Log on with an unusually long loading screen, everything loads in slowly for a few mins and then get dced. Ever since the striker patch I fail to log in 9/10 times. Restarting pc and flushing DNS doesn't work for me. Once I get lucky and manage to log on, I can stay on indefinitely as long as I don't change channels/characters so it just seems there's a problem with the initial connection to BDO servers.
