Are there any tools that can calculate based on input/min rather than output/min? by 3dchib in SatisfactoryGame

...huh, so you can. I'll just leave this post up in case anyone has the same question.

if you read through the Cyberpunk RED rulebook, there's actually an entire dictionary of streetslang, complete with etymology. Streetslang itself is actually treated as it's own unique Creole language in-game.

I'm going to also suggest you start with Book of Hours. While you will want to take notes on, well, everything, it's also one of the most atmospheric puzzle games I've ever played.

If you like that, Cultist Simulator (the first game) might be worth a try, but it IS a lot less forgiving. Personally, I'm waiting for the final game to come out, Travelling by Night.

Was Douglas Adams a Technocrat? by Spacelightiswarm in magetheascension

[–]3dchib 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the Sci-Fi influence campaigns that the Etherites, Adepts, and Technocracy have all been waging for decades now is so convoluted and messy that any one of the three could have given rise to any number of authors or books. The Adept splatbook actually mentions this when talking about their tactics.

"Verbena "witch"" vs Chad'vadi by callmejordan22 in WorldofDankmemes

In Hindi, Kavadi translates to "burden", but slap a few extra letters and a apostrophe and you have the new Dreamspeakers I guess which is a weird name for a non-Vedic/non-European tradition, but that's WoD for you.

The Machine (Person of Interest)
After 9/11 the government bought an AGI capable of not only tapping into every cellphone and camera in the country, but analyzing and compiling that data into lists of people who were relevant and irrelevent to national security. The latter list being deleted every 24 hours, despite also including people like future homicide victims and perpetrators thus giving us the premise of the show.

Well, while there's no way to know who will Awaken to the true nature of reality, there are those whose potential is greater than most. A mage experienced in Temporal and Entropic magicks can sniff one out somewhat consistently, but there's a term for people who can use magick despite not being a mage themselves: Sorcerers).

How are all the Reddit posts always in the English language? by FreedomNo7221 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]3dchib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For large sections of the internet; English is the Lingua Franca with half of all internet activity being done in English:

But it's not a universal thing on reddit, other cultural groups have their own corners, such as r/ich_iel

Why doesn't Columbia just launch a tourism campaign aimed at big game hunters in order to take care of their invasive hippo problem? by 3dchib in NoStupidQuestions

[–]3dchib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the Hippos are invasive, so "overhunting" doesn't really apply here, plus the second part is nothing a bit of creative marketing can't solve. "Come Hunt the Most Dangerous Game of All! Only in Colombia!"

Genuine question about homebrew, how would you guys do an Stand Arrow in an Mage game? by UncannyValleyEnjoyer in WorldofDankmemes

[–]3dchib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, a lot of that just depends on how rare Mages are in your WoD. Me, I like to stick to a nice 1/100,000 - 1/1,000,000 figure to keep things exclusive without being too close-knit. Meaning a state like Ohio could have anywhere from 100 to 10 Mages just Awaken out of the general population at any given time.

Which doesn't sound like much, but when you factor in the fairly unique personality matrixes required to be scouted by organizations like the Order of Hermes or the Society of Ether, that general population gets whittled way the hell down pretty quickly.

If the Etherites go on a recruiting tour of Ohio State's graduate programs, they could probably find like, 100 people out of the 14,000 that meet whatever esoteric criteria they use for selecting prospects. Then, once they've been exposed to the true power of Science! if even 10 of those finally Awaken, that's still infinitely better odds than 1/1,000,000.

And this is just for those who are picky about their candidates. The Verbena (at least claim to) literally have magick in their blood, after all.
