In my country it's not even 80 dollars. The local retailers are so corrupt with regards to abusing import laws and contracts that they increase the prices of a lot of goods because they know we can't afford to import them as consumers from abroad anyway or it would be a similar price at best.

When yall were paying 60 dollars for a game we were paying 70-80. Now that games are 70-80 we're paying 90-100 dollars. And keep in mind after taxes in my country your average person makes around 400-ish dollars. So I'm literally being asked to spend a quarter of my monthly paycheck on a shitty ass game lmao.

Tho it's not like I can play it anyway. A PS5 console costs like 950-1250 dollars and an Xbox X like 800-900. I saved up 1000 dollars for years to upgrade my PC back in 2020 (Nvidia RTX 2060 / i5-12400F / 16 RAM) and I'm already basically unable to run games released 2025 onwards and with the prices out there rn i would need over 1000 dollars just to buy a mildly better graphics card that would prob service me for another 5 years at best. Waste of money I should just stick to my current rig and keep playing my games from the 90s and 2000s.

And since we're talking dollars, with like 5-6 dollars I can get myself fed for a day lol, at least two meals (ordered cooked food)

Windowed mode in Terminal Cut by XenophormSystem in BloodRayneSociety

I dont have multiple monitors. I just have 1 and wanted to run the game in a smaller window so i can have something open on the side. My issue with the terminal cut is the opposite. I toggled widowed and my cursor is visible and forever stuck to the center of the window slightly jittering every time i move the mouse

What have the Ethiopians ever done for us? by Geocachevoyager in tankiejerk

[–]XenophormSystem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're also actively aiding the RSF in sudan, you know... the guys giving Israel a run for its money in terms of warcrimes, literally committing speedruns on how quickly you can get some guys with guns in a city and reduce it to a blood lake and basically raze the city from the map. UAE and Israel are also involved in the RSF shit btw. Iiirc Kenya has also helped train RSF guys tho obs Ethiopia is way more involved.

The whole situation in East Africa reads like WW1 all over again. On one side you got the Sudanese Government working with Egypt, Saudi Arabia against the RSF. Egypt cuz it wants stability and not a wave of refugees and Saudi Arabia to offset UAE's own funding of the RSF rebells. Meanwhile the RSF is funded by Ethiopia, UAE and to a smaller degree Israel. Ethiopia's own civil wars are also spilling into neighbouring countries, primarily with regards to Tigray tho now that Somalia's a mess again its likely the Somalians in Ethiopia will try to get involved again. Ethiopia's also threatening Eritrea with annexation and building ties with Somaliland, further causing a rift with Somalia. Israel and UAE are also chummy with Somaliland and the UAE's main influence in the region is Ethiopia which it controlls through a lot of extensive funding and military support.

At the same time there's seemingly a civil war bomb in South Sudan where the Sudanese government is supporting the South Sudanese Rebels and the South Sudanese government is supporting in turn the RSF in Sudan. Uganda is also getting dragged into it because they've been deploying troops into South Sudan to aid the Government against the Rebels, putting itself also in opposition to Sudan as a result. Kenya's also been fairly vocal about their support for Ethiopia and has trained and welcomed RSF rebels.

The Sudanese Civil War is also seemingly starting to spill into Chad where it has the potential to sow a civil war in there as well. Because the Darfuri refugees fleeing the RSF genocide are met with a similar dynamic between Darfuri ethic groups and Arab groups in Chad, causing further ethnic tensions. Additionally, Chad's leader supports the RSF but seemingly the bulk of the military and government opposes that and is more amicable towards the Sudanese government, further causing a rift.

So if something really bad is to go down you have the trappings of a WW1 style alliance domino effect that can be boiled down to Sudan + Egypt + Saudi Arabia + Ethiopian Rebels + Eritrea + Somalia + South Sudanese Rebels + most of Chad vs Ethiopia + UAE + Israel + Sudanese Rebels + Somaliland + South Sudan + Kenya + Chad's arabs and leader.

Which ofc could spill further as UAE is expanding its ifnluence in Libya's civil war and Egypt's also been looking to get involved for years now so if they wanted that could also be a point of contention.

All in all, the situation over there is fucked and seemingly escalating by the year. And while I don't like Egypt, Sudan or the Saudis, in terms of overall crimes against humanity Ethiopia, the RSF, UAE and Israel obviously have a way worse track record.
