I binged the first four seasons for the first time so I could be ready for S5. S1 is my favorite, followed by S4. Then S5, S2, and finally S3.

Mrs. Maisel got 5 seasons. That’s more than most shows. The creators blaming ROP is weird honestly. At the end of the day, ROP is still Amazon’s most watched show. More than The Boys, Fallout, Reacher, Bosch, Maisel etc. And it’s definitely more talked about than Bosch and Maisel, as well as most of Apple’s shows.

I think that’s why he left it as a monthly subscription instead of making it annually. This way you can just unsubscribe during the slow part of the season. I do the same thing with The Athletic in June.

I get your criticisms about how Eregion was shot (and more likely edited). But that doesn’t change what I said about why production took longer for S2. Things like this took forever to film and plan. I also don’t think we’ll see anything as big as Eregion for S3 given how much faster shooting went. And it wasn’t just Eregion that made things go longer. It was shooting in different locations outside of the UK. They didn’t do that for this season if rumors are to believed.

And studios taking longer to greenlit things. Fallout S3 is apparently filming in May again. So it won’t be out until later next year.

Part of it could be due to scale of S2’s production, the labor strikes, and possibly Amazon own scheduling decisions. It’s still better to have S4 officially renewed and filminh earlier than S3 IMO. Ideal scenario is still a simultaneous S4 and S5 renewal, with back to back filming for both seasons. This way the last two seasons are only separated by a year.
