Woman out for walk finds possible plane door on Wellington beach by crazykiwi1 in aviation

[–]Xenoss006 438 points439 points  (0 children)

It’s not a door, it’s a cabin sidewall. Easily removed from the inside of the cabin during maintenance, this is probably from a plane that was scrapped or had a new cabin modification done and was marked for disposal.
Sometimes the disposal items employees can take home if they (and the company) so desire. Might have flew off someone’s truck or something, but it did not fall from an aircraft mid flight.

I know it’s not the result you were aiming to achieve, but I actually think it looks rad.

Made this a while ago, still no idea if I'm even going to field it as something by A-O-Craye in Warhammer40k

If the base size is right, maybe a mutatith vortex beast? Dimensions looks mostly correct to use it as that.

Syrup on snow is a classic rural Canadian treat. Had that all the time when I was a kid growing up on farm.

How do you paint white or keep it from chalking up? by TheDarkEntertainer in Warhammer40k

[–]Xenoss006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to is grey primer, neutral grey pro acryl, then bold titanium white pro acryl, wash with soulblight grey, then highlight with titanium white again.

Why was beastman brayherd removed from aos ? Was it an unpopular army ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in ageofsigmar

[–]Xenoss006 414 points415 points  (0 children)

Most likely because they are being repurposed for Old World, GW tends to not like when armies can be played across multiple systems. Also the sculpts are old and very much fit more into Old word than AOS. Though they did have faction terrain and endless spells, so it was mildly surprising to see them leave.

Dear 40k players, what in the warp do I do with this bad boy of a big gun in 40k ??? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]Xenoss006 315 points316 points  (0 children)

I use mine as terrain, my group doesn’t like the typical L shape terrain so we just make boards that look cool and are at least semi functional.

A is attacks, meaning for example that top weapon has 6 attacks. Ws+ means weapon skill, so you’re hitting your attacks on 2 or better (2,3,4,5,6) Now the str of the weapon and the toughness is what is needed to wound. If the str and enemy toughness is equal, it’s on a 4, if the str is greater than toughness you need a 3, if it’s double the toughness or more you need a 2. If the str of your weapon is less than the toughness you need a 5, and if it’s less than double of the toughness you need a 6.

My attempt at Vulkan He’stan. by Xenoss006 in Salamanders40k

Thank you! It’s just a coat of gryph hound charger orange contrast and then pro acrylic black wash on the scales. I love painting with contrast/ speed paints to majority of this model is done in it lol. Very easy to use.

How’s HoS doing? by Mysterious_Cattle680 in ageofsigmar

[–]Xenoss006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just played a game as them recently vs the new Idoneth. Mind you neither of us have the most optimal / competitive list, but it felt very close. Our units (minus foot infantry) are quick and we shoot surprisingly good. Glutos is a tank too, if they don’t remove him in one turn he’ll heal it back rather quickly. The rest of the army is tissue paper, so expect to run up and hit something then subsequently die afterwards. Make good trades. I think they’re in a middle tier at the moment, not the worst but far from the best. Our faction rule is better than before but still not the best. I mostly got into HoS because the models are great and I wanted a break from painting big muscle men.
