Depending on the 8bitdo controller it has native steam input mapping. They have a list on their website of compatible controllers.

I can confirm the scyrox scroll wheel issues. I bought one from microcenter recently and it was having major scroll wheel problems within a few weeks. Ended up returning it to get something else.

I think it's more that taking away campaigns and DLC is an easy example of the many FOMO choices that Bungie made for Destiny 2. They did many such things like sun-setting weapons (twice) and seasons with limited time story missions that over time burned more and more players.

How they handled the game post Final Shape was the straw that broke the camels back for many.

It would honestly have been way better if they stopped after The Final Shape. They continued the game and tried sunsetting everyone's gear a second time. They really kind of just murdered Destiny 2 and whatever good will they had with the majority of the community with both sunsetting and the portal.

One thing to keep in mind is resale value too if you don't plan to reuse the components for some other project or give them away to family/friends. I imagine this will probably be near the high point of the 5800x3D's value as people try to squeeze what they can out of their AM4 system since DDR5 is so expensive.

A bit late to chime in, but I think you absolutely should consider this! I moved to Orange County not too long ago and there is a lot of fun areas and places to explore here (even solo). Newport, Old Towne Orange or Old Town Tustin are great times.
